About

Home to art, vibrant cultures and diverse peoples living in harmony, respect and tolerance...This is Brimbank. http://www.brimbank.vic.gov.au

Story

Brimbank City Council acknowledges the traditional custodians of this land, the Wurundjeri people, and pay their respects to their elders past and present.

The Brimbank municipality is the second largest in metropolitan Melbourne and at its closest point is located only 12 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD.

In one single municipality of 123sq.km and with a current population of 189,386 people - Brimbank covers an area equivalent to the eastern region of Melbourne stretching from Doncaster to Ringwood, to Chadstone and Glen Waverley.

Our focus continues to be the revitalisation of town centres and urban villages, improving governance, enhancing facilities and infrastructure in the City, strengthening our community and continuing to foster pride in Brimbank!

Speaking of pride: we have embraced cultures of more than 96 nationalities from around the globe; with 50.7 per cent of residents born overseas and around 52.3 per cent speaking a language other than English.

This is Brimbank...

Every time I try to make suggestions, their systems keep crashing. It's like they want to fail. There's so much that can be done to make this a better place, but it's clear they're not really doing enough. I've been reading their plans for years and they just keep delaying projects further and further or scraping them altogether. And it's clear they're relying too much on hope/chance that investors will invest because of Sunshine's proximity to make road and rail connections and continue the trend of investment after the RRL, Foundry Towers and Brimbank Civic Centre. But let's be real. That's not going to happen. It's Sunshine! - The place people want to avoid. That investment momentum argument has lost all ground. If anything, this place gets worse by the year. And to top it all off, we've now got a joke of a mayor. Gotta love scum-shine!

Dont try to make any complaints, they will just pull out the trump card ; "go see a lawyer"..... knowing many of the people in this council are from disadvantaged backgrounds and do not have the money or knowledge for this. Sometimes they forget they are a public institution , not a private profiteering business. Bunch of clowns working to benefit just themselves and their connections, just like the circus that were all sacked in 2009.

What a joke!!!! called the council to let them know that someone dumped kittens in front of my apartment block, and they have the nerve to ask me to pay $60 and it takes two weeks for someone to come out and catch the kittens and the mother, seriously heartless bastards

Very nice new building, nice staff and helpfull to me when i'm looking for a book or asking an question to one of the staff. The libary is clean and modern which is great money well spent kid friendly and i really like the study space it's quite when i need to study and do work. But the cafe needs to be open longer. Brimbank City Council is no1 and this is the best area to live in other than the city. Keep it up the great work and libary's are great holding a book in your hands is better than going on the internet.
