New transfer student: teachers are sweet and helped me adjust around. The initial first inquiry and meeting did not give adequate knowledge of what to bring or prepare. I felt the principal could have done better in explaining how things worked around here; the explanation was very short and unhelpful.nnThe other con I felt was that the library was interconnected. This meant primary school kids could access the same library as secondary students. I found this quite intrusive and annoying, the kids were very loud and distracting and the library is also unaccessible at random times.nnThe rules are also not arbitrary. I asked the head staff of the senior teachers about whether or not students were allowed to wear makeup or fake tattoos, and they said no. Well, this apparently does not stand because there are a plethora of students wearing makeup around.
This is an update from a new transfer secondary senior school student who has been here for more than 3 terms:nncons:nn Extremely small; found the lack of variety in buildings quite irksome and hated the library; it's perpetually closed at arbitrary times which makes its very inconvenient since I have to study. It's also interlinked with the primary school so you will get disturbances from the kids. If you're a secondary student who harbors a preference for quiet environments, this is not the place for you; there are very few places you will be able to spend time at in break times.nn The small population of students also limit the subject choices for VCE; the system is heavily dependent on the subject selection of students; if you're passionate about a certain niche subject, there's a high probability it may be unavailable, simply because there aren't enough students to make it viable. If you value novelty and quality relationships, don't go here because you may get sick of seeing the same faces everyday. Conversely, if you value familiarity and routine, this is the place for you.nn Locker and bathroom are in marginally poor conditions most of the time; specific students have not learnt etiquette and have used the bathrooms as a personal unkempt zoo, instead of a community space that caters for bodily needs. Vaping is a common issue and staff do a very poor job at regulating this.nn substitute teachers do a very poor job and never exert adequate authority over students. Rules are rarely followed and this is leads to undisciplined, unpunctual, unfitting and simpleton behaviour. Unfortunately, secondary students behave worse than primary school students at times which is unfortunate and shameful.nnThe year 12 privilege of hoarding a exclusive building to themselves at recess is also unfair and stupid. I am unable to use the more 'peaceful' and tame areas due to not being their year level.nn Some faculties are disgusting and underdeveloped. As far as I am concerned, there are no heaters in the big gym; we had to sit several exams in the winter season and the lack of heat was an extraneous variable which negatively impacted our performance level. I just wished the staff were more exacting and consistent in their rules; I have inquired about many things and even though they affirmed that it wasn't allowed, no consequences were employed to regulate it---overt, obvious displays were not addressed.nnPros:nn This tight-knit community helps those that enjoy strong support in academics and social endeavours. The staff are predominately kind from what I have experienced. Bullying is a rare sight here, and even if it occurs, quick action is taken to stop the endeavour.nnTLDR: not the best quality school; serious-mature secondary students ought to enrol in better environments. If you enjoy lenient and small environments, this is definitely the place.
Everyone around you at this school says the n-word it's horrible, and I recommend Nazerath college instead.
I know some kids who go ‍ there thay love the school community cheers
