Cairns Dive Adventures is your complete Cairns Reef Tour Directory. This site has been prepared to provide unbiased advice and information on Cairns’ snorkel and dive day tours, liveaboard dive trips and learn to dive and diving courses on the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea with up to date information.

Owned and operated by Richard and Julie Johnston, Cairns Dive Adventures’ website started in 2010. As long term local residents who are passionate about the region and the reef, they established Cairns Dive Adventures to provide visitors with a one-stop reef tour research and booking tool, providing unbiased advice, helpful information and tour reviews.

With our knowledge of the boats, trips and courses, we can help you choose the best possible trip to the Great Barrier Reef, pending your itinerary and requirements. Whether it is diving, snorkelling, learning to dive, trips with families or liveaboard trips to the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea – we can help you.

This was our second Liveaboard trip that we organised through Cairns Dive Adventures, first trip was on Reef Encounter - reviewed here in Nov 2016 and it was great. This trip was in Dec 17 and we went on Spirit of Freedom for the 3 night Cod Hole trip. Spirit of Freedom is a very nice boat with excellent attentive crew and a good ratio of crew to guests. Room was very comfortable. Food very plentiful and great quality. There were safety divers in the water on every dive and these Dive Instructors guided us when required. This was an excellent trip in every way. Perfect weather, interesting and safe diving. Visibility generally around 20m plus. Highly recommended. Cairns Dive Adventures were wonderful again. Easy booking process, great communication. Clint even came back to the office on Saturday afternoon at 5pm to meet me and showed me how to get the best out of the complimentary camera outfit they loaned me. That is terrific service. I highly recommend Cairns Dive Adventures to book your next adventure. Dived Dec 2017

We booked introductory dives (two dives a piece, 5 people, so a substantial investment, at least on our budget!) with Cairns Dive Adventures initially through the website and ultimately after a very informative email exchange with Clint. Clint's responses to my questions were fast (in spite of a big time zone difference) , complete, informative, and professional. I described in my initial inquiry what I thought we were after, and Clint responded with a recommendation that worked out spot-on for our party of five. He was informative and respectful in my follow-up email questions about whether this was really the right choice for us. It WAS! Unfortunately I was unable to complete the second intro dive. A refund for this dive in accordance with the provider's refund policy was awarded promptly by Cairns Dive Adventures. WOW! Tell these guys who you are dive/snorkel/swimmer-wise and what you think you want, and I bet they will find a great match for you. In our case, I am darned sure their recommendation was better than what I found on an internet search on my own. We will use them again if we are am so lucky as to be in Cairns again!

We have just returned from a stay in Cairns and wanted to give a big thanks to Clint. His great advice made our trip to the outer reef much more enjoyable. We couldn't recommend them enough! We booked with them and received a free camera rental for the day. We've some brilliant underwater photos thanks to them. Thanks again Clint !!

Clint was very helpful and found the right dive package for me and trip to Kuranda. I especially liked the free underwater camera. My only disappointment is that I assumed this was the actual dive company, as the name implies, and not a company that offers various tour packages. I'm still glad I went there, just not what I thought it was.

We booked everything online and the staff was very helpful. We had to go to the shop to pick up the underwater camera and had a hard time finding it at first. The place is actually part of the Tour shop at the same address.
