Gilligan's is the ultimate experience in accommodation and entertainment set in the heart of Cairns. Offering guests 5* backpacker accommodation, nightly entertainment and a relaxed atmosphere whilst soaking up the sun, why choose to stay anywhere else?

All room types are fully equipped with an full en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and four floors of communal areas. Or perhaps try our deluxe dormitories; designed to offer that little bit extra. Available in 4 and 6 bed configurations, these rooms offer TVs, refrigerators and all have a private balcony to kick back and relax after a long day at the reef, rainforest or even a lazy day by our pool.

It doesn't end there...our outdoor lagoon pool is encompassed by a beer deck which during the day offers chilled music, enjoy the atmosphere and maybe even a cold beverage. By sunset this area transforms into a exhilarating night offering a wide range of entertainment evenings from Live entertainment and dj's 7 nights per week, Trivia, Wildlife Show, Beer Pong, Talent Show, Jelly Wrestling, Wet T-Shirt, Pole Dancing and much more as well as on weekends where national and international DJ acts are flown in for that added extra only Gilligan's can provide.

Ended up to the club by chance on my birthday. Had a great time!! Huge venue with different rooms, so different types of music!! The staff was super friendly and efficient. One beautiful woman even remember what I had ordered after placing just one order! Impressive!!! Loved the vibe. Good crowd, good time!nThere is even a pool if you go daytime.nGreat find, worth the visit for sure!!nNext time I'll be in town, I'll come again and probably will book a room at the hotel.

Every night she brought great energy to the bar — always smiling, always up for a chat, and always remembering everyone’s drink orders like magic.nnWhat really stood out is how effortlessly she creates a relaxed, social atmosphere. Whether you’re a solo traveller or with a group, she makes you feel at home straight away. Her cocktails are top-tier, her recommendations are spot-on, and she somehow manages to keep the whole place running smoothly even when it’s busy.nnIf you’re staying at the hostel, make sure to spend an evening at the bar — Suski will definitely make your stay even better.nnHighly recommend
A great spot for a few drinks and a night out when I visited Cairns with friends.nnDrink prices are really reasonable and there is always a meal deal that most people eat. Looking forward to returning again.
I had a really disappointing experience during my stay at Gilligan’s in Cairns, and I honestly wouldn’t recommend anyone stay here based on what I went through.nnFrom the moment I reported the damp issue in my room, the reception staff made the situation even more frustrating. When I explained what was happening, they didn’t look me in the eye, didn’t apologise, and didn’t offer any help until I pushed for answers. I felt completely dismissed. I had to ask them what could be done, because it was clear they weren’t going to offer any solutions on their own. For a place of this size, the lack of basic customer service was really surprising.nnThe bar/club area was another low point. My experience with the bouncers left me feeling uncomfortable and honestly shocked. They came across as incredibly power-hungry — the kind of attitude where they seemed more focused on throwing their authority around than maintaining a fair or safe environment. My friend was escorted out twice without any explanation at all, yet at the same time I saw extremely intoxicated men being allowed in and staying inside, even though they were making young girls uncomfortable and could barely stand. It felt inconsistent, unsafe, and very poorly managed.nnThe damp problem in the room also never improved. It was bad enough that I had to ask for new bed sheets every day, and even then everything felt wet again within hours. All of my clothes became damp and completely unwearable. It honestly ruined the stay.nnOverall, my time here was uncomfortable, poorly handled, and incredibly disappointing. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend choosing a different hostel. This stay was not worth the stress, and I wouldn’t come back.
This is a really great bar for a drink on a hot day, I don't have to wear a shirt, pool to go swimming, kitchen so can eat, night club and much more, there's always hot guys to perve on lol.nI must place to visit if you in Cairns.
