The Woolshed

Decent pub with an upstairs club. Briefly went to the club, filled with backpackers and of course wild. Good for groups. Would come back for a longer night.

Popular with backpackers. Huge pub feed at a great price. Excellent for meeting people from all around the world. Down side is that it is very busy. Tip is to eat early before the crowd arrives.

First off. Do not come to the Woolshed before 10-11 PM. The place is deserted. Secondly, if you do not already have free entry (they hand out wristbands at every hostel to entice people to come), skip. Even the $5 isn't worth it. The music seems good at first but the DJ(s?) currently employed there keeps switching to different songs right when you're getting into it, to the frustration of everyone on the floor. It's like they're trying to piss people off. If you ever get an offer from somewhere else for a free drink at the Woolshed, do not fall for it. The glass of beer you'll receive is only slightly larger than a shotglass. Finally, the security staff is horrendous. I've had many friends thrown out for no/false reasons, and recently I was their victim. They said I was "harassing bar staff" even though I had done no such thing and hadn't even been at the bar in over an hour. I don't mind them making a mistake, but it was handled very unprofessionally. The chances of this happening to you are of course statistically small, but at least you know what kind of staff they employ. Go here at your own risk. You have been warned.

Came and hung out for a bit. Saw the goldfish racing, where people blow air at fish through straws. Pretty messed up to abuse animals for entertainment, I can’t believe that sort of thing happens around here. I will not come here again and I will certainly let people know about this barbaric behaviour.

Everyone is going there - it's the perfect size for a nightclub - there are table to dance on - the music after 1am on a Saturday is the best - electromusic :p - 2 room to dance upstairs any king of music - and downstairs more electro
