Story

Cairns Central is the largest shopping centre in Far North Queensland and is conveniently located in the city centre and has been servicing the local region since 1997.

Cairns Central offers the widest variety of retail stores with Myer, Target, Kmart, Coles, Event Cinemas and 180 specialty stores, including fashion, food, jewellery, homewares, pharmacy, medical centre, banks, gifts and more. The centre is fully enclosed and has a large fully air-conditioned foodcourt.

Plenty of carpark, but I especially favour the Myres, Rebels and Woolworths upstairs carparking area. Both Woolworths and Priceline staff are just awsome. In the foodcourt check out the Doughnut King; you get pretty good service too. Oh! Even Best and Less staff too. Myres?...Grand name but need to upgrade their PR. Just from my perspective, and I have heard few others like me with the same sentiments...
I had a terrible experience at Proud Jewellers Cairns Central. I bought a 9ct gold Pearl Pendant with diamonds. I tried it on, so I knew the chain’s length and weight. I was told it was gold plated, which was fine. I gave the pendant to the store manager, Saphir, and paid by credit card. As soon as the transaction went through, Saphir took the pendant to the back store to replace the “broken clasp”. It took her a minute to return. I was angry because there was no issue with the chain when I tried it on, and Saphir didn’t mention any problems. When I asked for the pendant, she said there was a knot on the chain and then changed her story to say it was broken. She said I could have a broken chain if I wanted. When I asked where the broken chain was, she said, ”Too bad.” I paid for the goods, and there was nothing wrong with them. Saphir walked into the back store without asking me if I wanted to swap the chain. I had a bad feeling about her honesty. She said it was a display and she had to swap it. Is this how Proud Jewellers does business? When customers pay for goods, they legally own them. You don’t walk away with paid goods without their consent. You don’t say you’re exchanging the chain as you walk off to the back store, giving your customer no chance to have any say in the exchange. For the public, check that Proud Jewellers doesn’t exchange your goods after you’ve paid. I won’t return to Proud Jewellers in Cairns Central.nnThe store manager, Saphir, badly represents Cairns Central’s vendor quality.
Love this place, a great place to walk during the heat of the day. Good shopping as well, with a grocery on each end, and a food court in the middle.
Cairns Central is a big, spacious mall and has pretty much everything in one place. You’ll find all the major stores like Myer, Kmart, Target, Coles, Woolworths, JB Hi-Fi, Rebel, Best & Less, City Beach, Daiso, and heaps more. There’s even an Asian supermarket mostly Korean, which is super handy.nnThe food options are solid too. The food court upstairs has all the usual favourites like McDonald’s, KFC, Hungry Jack’s, Sushi Train, Gloria Jean’s, Boost Juice, Donut King, plus other casual dining spots. Just a heads up though, I was once charged $6.60 for a single donut at Donut King, which was definitely not right, so keep an eye on your receipt.nnOverall though, the mall itself is clean, convenient, and in a really handy spot right next to the Cairns railway station and city centre. A proper one-stop place for shopping, food, or just hanging out.
