Great place to pop by for a great lunch or cappuccino with great desserts, biscuits and cakes. I love the freshly squeezed juices made for you instantly. The fresh produce and delicious food explains, why this place is always packed up and so popular. If you need a healthy boost during your busy shopping in the City, that's the place that will offer you the needed "pick me up" special treat.
I was on my own and loved that I can sit on the window seat and watch people passing by. Cafe seems to be one of few places left open in a famous Royal arcade. My chai was nice as well as salmon and eggs. Owner of the business or manager was bit hard on his young staff member who it seems is still learning the trade. Although I recognise the need for it, I think it should be more discreet and encouraging
Was out and about in Melbourne and had some time to pass so was looking to sit down for a coffee, came across this place. It presented really well and looked great. That’s where the good ended. I made my way in and was met with a blank look on the girls face behind the counter. She asked how could she help so I said I was after a cappuccino and an orange juice. The blank look continued and she looked to a colleague for help. The colleague asked what I was after do I repeated my order. At this point a guy came up to me and asked what I was after. For the third time I repeated myself and was told to follow him back outside and to sign in. I said I wasn’t from Victoria and didn’t see the sign which wasn’t at the first entry door, it was at a second entry up the arcade a little bit and said no one inside told me, His response was quite abrupt when he said “well I’m telling you”. That was it for me so I responded with “and I will tell you, we are off elsewhere”. Unfortunately this male was a bit rude so didn’t really deserve our order”. As I left I couldn’t quite hear what he said to a group in the corner but it was quite obvious it wasn’t nice when they looked in my and my 10 year old daughters direction and laughed quite loud. We had the last laugh though when we went to the arcade opposite and had a great breakfast and drink and were met with positivity and happiness. 2 stars only for the decor of the cafe. If you are in Melbourne you have plenty of other options. We enjoyed a great weekend in Melbourne where everyone was happy and friendly, except here.
Food was fresh and delicious, staff were friendly and very professional and the atmosphere was beautiful. Perfect breakfast to end the weekend, i only have photos of half eaten food because we couldn't wait to try it!
Good quality cakes and coffee, one very friendly waitress and one who clearly doesn't want to be there. You should get rid of the unfriendly waitress... it's very bad for business having staff like that.
Gosh, Imagine you order Earl Grey Premium tea and got an ordinary Breakfast tea after explaining it trice. Is it so complicated to understand what your customer wants? Furthermore, having no toilet wasn't the best I had hoped for. P.S.: I asked for sugar and got milk! Next time I'll try to draw my order. Sorry for my sarcasm.
Very nice surroundings and lovely staff. Food was also very delicious. Milk was a liiiiitle milky but i still enjoyed it
The desserts were not very good quality, tasted like they have been sitting on the fridge for days. The coffee was cold and didn't taste good at all, couldn't finish it. Besides, everything was overpriced.Food: 1/5
Situated in a convenient location. They have a decent selection of pastries. Went with my 10 yr old for brunch. Coffee 4/5, Fresh Juice 5/5. The food was OK 3/5 but serving size small and the bread toasted hard and difficult to bite. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options marked on the menu
What a great find and the pasta superb Excellent coffee and service from friendly staff. Will definitely return. Vegetarian options: Delicious full of flavour green pesto tagliatelle - did not disappoint.
