Went on a Sunday night. Walked in, wasn't overly busy. Ordered our meals. They ran out of normal Coke only had diet or zero. Then I get asked if I'd like my chicken cooked rare, medium or well? I'm pretty sure chicken is not meant to be eaten rare or medium so I asked for well. Entree of fried calamari took over 30minutes to come out. It was dry & chewy. Place started to fill up by this stage. Then waited 40 minutes for mains after that. Very disappointed after hearing great things about it. Will not be going back.
Went on Saturday night and found the staff attentive and prompt. The meal arrived on time and was fantastic. I had the Calzone which took me all the way to Italy again. They were very accomodating with my son who just wanted pasta with a napoli sauce. We also shared a dessert Ferrero Roch'e of which i had to fight my wife for the last piece. My wife had the Proscutto Pizza with Rocket and lovedit. She loved that the salad dressing was on the table and she could add as much to her salad as she wanted. All up strongly recommend trying it out. New reno, New food, and new atmosphere all add up to a great experience!
As you walk up Lygon street you are stalked by restaurateurs haggle to get you inside. Trevi had no such hagglers which is why we went in, that and the menu looked reasonably priced. I had a chicken caesar salad, looked beautiful, just not as nice as others I have had, but perfectly acceptable. Partner had Lasagne which was the same. The bill was small and service was very good. On the way out I believe it was the owner, an older gent who sat in the doorway and thanked me for coming. It looks like this was once a place that was a great coffee shop, that expanded and just doesn't quite gel. Again nothing wrong, just felt it could have been a little better presented as a restaurant/cafe, but overall just a little average.
Not a frequent Lygon attender, but enjoyed going somewhere other than the usual places that everyone hovers to, and despite that still have some really nice pizza. Oh and they make some mean Aperol Spritz! Enjoyed it!
Good Italian food and friendly staff. Gets crowded at the weekends. They have a good selection of gluten free meals too.
Great food! Must try the bruschetta pizza...light deep fried base that's to die for. Will definitely be back.
Disappointed that they have changed from traditional Italian cuisine. I would come from a long way to get the meatballs. Unfortunately we will come no more.
The coffee here was good, but the Chocolate Cannolli were lovely!! I'll have to go back for more.
Pizza is very nice straight out of the woodfire! The new renovations look awesome!
Quite like it here, reasonable Italian food and a great price. Try the antipasto!
