The food is very, very delicious! The taste is authentic of an Italian handmade food. The restaurant exceeded my expectations. It was the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to in Melbourne. There are options for pastas, gnocchi, risottos, pizzas, steaks and etc. The service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere and staff are pleasant. I will definitely go back many times.
There are so many great authentic Italian restaurants in Carlton so be sure to pick carefully. I can assure you won’t go wrong with this one! Staff are really nice, food was very decent and also great value. We chose it initially because I had a discount coupon from Eat Club. I’m pretty sure it didn’t actually get applied but either way it was great value.
My wife is very allergic to many food products. The staff here were extremely helpful in providing a great meal and dining experience on our recent trip to Melbourne. The food was delicious and I really needed an extra stomach! We will be back!
Authentic Italian food and hospitality. Beautiful people very hospitable. Look forward to next trip to Melbourne. First time I’ve seen fresh pasta made our front by a master.
Honestly, I'm trying to find something nice to say about the food we ordered can't speak for the other items on the menu but after about 24 hours of reflection, I'm struggling. We ordered a small Hawaiian pizza, napoletana penne and a creamy mushroom fettuccine. Ok first off, though average, I'm glad we ordered the pizza because I couldn't eat much of anything else. The napoletana was super salty and penne overcooked. The creamy mushroom fettucine was the worst I've had in my life, and I've had a lot of al funghi pastas in my life. The sauce tasted like water with a dash of milk, raw garlic and cornstarch, and the fettuccine was thick and overcooked to the point where there were dints in the pasta. It looked like a kid had made it out of play dough tbh. To top it off, both of the pasta dishes came with a single leaf of spinach instead of basil, which was the cherry on top, really. Sorry, but if you're gonna call yourself an Italian restaurant, please do better.
Quite a good Italian restaurant. Highly recommended. The atmosphere is great and there was a guy making fresh pasta on the spot. Quick service and tasty food.
Very bad and awkward service and food was horrible.. marinara spaghetti tasted EXACTLY likepre-made sauce from can and pre-mixed seafood from woolies - not fresh at all. Spaghetti was so soft, way over-cooked... Steak was very tough and the sauce tasted like pre-made sauce. Definitely not going back again, especially for the expensive prices on the menu - you can get way better food on Lygon for your buck.
Worst Italian restaurant ever been to so far. Most of the restaurants were closed Monday on the street therefore visited this restaurant today, and this was the biggest regret I have. Frozen pizza from the supermarket tastes better than this. The taste of mushroom fettuccine is just weird. Feel sick after eating this. The plate looks greasy and seems they didn’t wash it properly. Unsure about the hygiene of this restaurant. Overpriced for such bad quality of food.
A little after-class gathering with my girls amidst final-exam period. Definitely beyond our expectations: friendly service, reasonable price, fresh ingredients & very good taste!
Just had a lovely spaghetti ragu with a glass of wine here, for the second time in as many weeks. The house made pasta was Al Dente & the ragu tasted amazingly good Topped off with a decent glass of red wine we were very happy. We found some of the other negative reviews on here quite amusing - perhaps they came for dinner at peak time and didn’t like the long wait? Late on Sunday night is the perfect time, plenty of tables, fast friendly service from a family restaurant that clearly loves what they do…
