Very nice indeed, service was friendly and on the ball, which is unfortunately very uncommon these days. I've been there 3 times in the last 6 months and we've had a great lunch each time. On a side note: I don't think I've ever seen a female staff member anytime I've been there though - what's with that???? Prices are a bit high for what they are but the quality's been good each time. Friendly management as well. Would recommend.
For a pre-booked table, the service we received was decidedly sub-standard. Drink orders were ignored or forgotten and, while we were able to order promptly, we were kept waiting on our meals for more than eighty minutes. When the food arrived it was good, but not worth the wait, nor, I would say, the ~$25 price attached. We received no real explanation for the delay in our dinner, and were offered no apology further than a handwave and a sympathetic look. The delay was not universal to the entire restaurant, either, as we watched the tables next to us arrive, order, be served eat and clear more than twice. Would not recommend.
Table of 8 - approx $94 per couple. Very ordinary food and service. The pork belly was stone cold and when returned to be heated it came back with less portions of pork belly and less salad! Was this kitchen vengeance? The two plates of veal were just warm and whilst sounding very appealing on the menu, they were in fact very bland. I have made a flourless chocolate cake which is delicious; theirs looked and tasted like a packet cake. We had to remind the waitress of one wine that was ordered but hadn't arrived and also one coffee. In all it was a very disappointing experience.
We recently dined here while at Grand Prix 2013 what a poor experience food wise. We have been coming here for a meal every Grand Prix from 2005 , during this time the food and service have dropped a bit each year. When we first started coming Paul was there and was awsome with his service and food all staff we great, personal touch . We returned this year looking forward to our yearly visit but we all left disappointed the food was of a poor standard food cold . Garlic prawn tasteless , cold pork belly and the main meals arrived ten minutes at least before our sides of vegetables came out , really disappointed and we will be changing venue for 2014 and it is not cheap when you are spending between $350 and $450 total . Just close in saying the young lady with the Irish accent that was in charge was exceptional . but she just cant do it all , you would get a job anywhere thank you.
Food was average to below average depending on what we ordered. Think there might be new management or something because it was named "dimatinas" when we went last time but this time it was called "Italian cuchina" or something like that we asked and they said it was dimattinas. Had gone in the past when they were dimatinas and the food and variety was fantastic but this time it was a pretty big let down, pretty much all the food was warm not hot was just a let down over all. On the positive the presentation was nice and the environment there was very pleasant.
DIMATTINA'S HAS CLOSED DOWN! This restaurant is now The Italian Cucina pretending to be Dimattina's but do not honor any contact you had with Dimattina's. They will go to very shady ends to maintain this illusion and get you through the door. Mediocre service waiter didn't listen, didn't have meals available on a weekend lunchtime, prices higher than expected. Only saving grace was that my table enjoyed their meals - chefs did an alright job. Still, no reason to come back.
Very disappointed. I had the lasagna and my wife had the fettucini marinara.I am pretty sure the frozen packaged you buy from Safeway would taste much better. My wife said the sauce and the pasta was horrible.Very seldom my wife complains about food. its the only time she only ate half of the serving.. The Dimattina's now called Italian cucina of old served much better food.Never again
The food was tastey and the steak was nice and tender the service was good. Even when it was busy ,they tried hard to make sure that you were looked after. would I eat their again defiantly.
The place doesn't look like much and feels a bit industrial, but the food is simple, honest and nice. So are the people. Great value for simple fare!
NO ENTERTAINMENT BOOK accepted! They said that they are no longer DInattina. I booked through DiMattina's website and the sign is DiMattina's! So is it KFC??? Food is average, service OKAY
