Cafe Derailleur is a small, quirky and unique neighborhood cafe serving Coffee Supreme coffee to you with passion and experience. We are located opposite the Wangaratta Railway station and at the start of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. Enjoy all day breakfasts from 7am, lunch from 11:30am and sweets made in house. Breakfasts come with our house baked sourdough bread, lunches include housemade gnocchi and burgers with our buns made in house. We have seating for up to 54 people, including a small courtyard, indoor and roadside seating.

Stopped here for brunch after I got off the train and we ended up staying for over an hour and a half. Fantastic staff, delicious food, and cute decor. Great range of food on offer too. They also sell coffee beans, breads, and more. And they do a 50cent off discount on takeaway coffees/hot beverages if you bring your own cup. Neat!
I've enjoyed lunch at Cafe Derailleur twice now. Each time the food quality has been very good. The service is friendly and efficient. This latest visit I enjoyed the caramelised pork belly with an Asian slaw salad. It was delicious.

Very nice place for lunch. Cafe could be from Smith or Brunswick Streets in Melbourne but instead opposite the Wangaratta train station. Menu wonderful and really good brewed chai tea
A great first stop coffee experience when you arrive in Wangaratta. Just opposite the railway station, it’s a friendly & relaxed setting away from the commercial centre of town. Excellent coffee, fresh & hearty cafe fare with attentive congenial staff. A great cafe to book end your rail trail holiday.
This was a great little cafe which we went to on our way from Melbourne to Sydney. The food and service was top notch and interesting. They also make bloody good coffee and took a few minutes to make sure that the pour was perfect before giving it to me. I appreciate good coffee and didn't mind one bit that i had to wait a couple of more minutes. I also had the Raw Cacao and Hemp bar afterwards and that was just brilliant. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area.
Fourth visit in the last 3 months while passing through Wangaratta from Melbourne. It's a cafe with a very Melbourne feel to it in it's fit-out including an eclectic outdoor area with a larger table if you've a bigger group. They even have a shelf unit showcasing some local wares along with coffee cups/beans and other supplies for the caffeine addicted. Ordering the beetroot and sweet potato fritters with poached egg and mushrooms on my first visit showcased a menu that's more experimental compared to other cafes in the area. The fritters were perfect and the lingering taste was only washed away with the fresh carrot/ginger juice....5 out of 5. So memorable was it that I had them again passing back through Wang on the second visit a few days later. However that visit had the fritters a little burnt and chewy as a result, hence the 4 star rating instead of a 5. This visit was on a Monday, less busy so it was surprising to have the quality drop. On the last visit I tried one of the specials, an open burrito type dish which proved delicious again. The breakfast menu has enough variety without being too extensive. It's unusual to note there's a 10% surcharge on weekends and public holidays, something I've never struck in popular Melbourne cafes. That said, I'll be visiting each time I pass through....weekdays, weekends or holidays.
Visited for breakfast recently to this quaint hipster joint. You can be forgiven for thinking you are walking into a cafe in Brunswick. The interior was warm and inviting on a cold morning. The eclectic interior was refreshing and the staff were happy, polite and efficient with orders. The coffee is good. The breakfast serving sizes are rather small and some of the flavours/matches are more suited to a lunch menu. Unfortunately the price points are rather high. A good stop for visitors to town.
My husband and I had the pleasure of eating at this wonderful cafe for dinner a few weeks ago and have to admit it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The service was excellent and the coffee delicious. Highly recommend it and wish we could come back for the duck pancakes and chicken liver pate. 10/10
Great selection of food. Best coffee ever. Caters to diverse diets. Humble/retro decor. Like stepping into a time capsule. Outstandingly friendly and polite staff, especially the young lad out the front of the resturant. Some items are a bit pricier than most venues but had a delightful experience
