Don’t come to this hospital if you can avoid it. The paediatric department is more of a heartless concentration camp than a caring hospital department for kids.nThey have a stupid one parent only policy that they won’t budge from no matter what the circumstances. My son was sitting there, distraught and crying because my wife and his younger brother weren’t allowed to come in with us.nHe was terrified and wanted the reassurance of both his parents being with him. When I escalated it to the unit manager, even though she saw the child was visibly upset all she offered was to asked the anaesthetist to give his some drugs to make him relax. For Gods sake who does that.nOn the contrary, our recent experience at St Vincent’s Private was the exact opposite. My wife and his brother were all allowed into the ward. The nurses were fantastic and made us all feel welcome and relaxed. They even went so far as to offer all of us something to eat while we waited for him to come out of theatre and after my son returned to his room.nBut not Cabrini they have strict rules to follow. Totally in contrast to their on hold message, were they waffle on about the care they offer.nnIf it wasn’t for my wife insisting to stay and the great surgeon that we had who unfortunately only operates at Cabrini, I would have taken my child and left this poor excuse for a hospital.
I recently had knee replacement surgery at Cabrini Hospital Malvern and cannot thank the nurses, doctors and staff for the amazing care and support they provided during my stay and rehabilitation.nA very special thanks to everyone on 2 North who helped me during my slow recovery, and who were outstanding in providing me with the attention, professionalism, support and warm and a friendly attitude at all times.nSpecial mention to Isabelle, Jan, Emily, Nav, Jason still current physiotherapist and Dr Malcolm Cunningham just to name a few, who were so helpful, thoughtful and compassionate at all times, they always met me with a smile and a laugh and nothing was ever a problem. Absolute hard working professionals who sadly are grossly underpaid for the amazing work they do.nThank you again everyone at Cabrini Hospital Malvern and 2 North, you guys are the best.nnRegardsnnDarren Reeves
The surgical teams we had each time we visited were superb and you can see my other reviews related to that. Regarding the hospital, the nursing staff are very knowledgeable and caring. The consistency of care/communication/advice was, however, a little challenging at times. The amenities were good and the food was as you would expect from a hospital. Plenty of parking, good cafe and outdoor areas, and a good variety at the chemist and gift shop. Overall we would recommend this hospital.
I recently brought my father to see Dr Darren Webb at Cabrini for surgery on his right foot, and I couldn’t be happier with the care he received. Dr Webb was exceptionally thorough—he clearly explained the procedure, answered all our questions, and provided a fantastic recovery plan that will help him get back on his feet. The entire team at Cabrini, from the friendly reception staff to the wonderful nurses, was warm, professional, and made the experience much less stressful.nnA special thank you goes to Julie, the practice nurse, who showed genuine compassion and took brilliant care of my dad throughout his stay. Her dedication, expertise, and kindness were truly remarkable. It’s clear that everyone at Cabrini is committed to providing top-quality healthcare. I highly recommend Dr Darren Webb and the Cabrini team to anyone in need of outstanding medical treatment and support.
I have had several experiences at Cabrini. A few procedures /operations. The specialists were absolutely fantastic but on each occasion I had at least one horrible nurse. I complained each time writing a letter but never had any acknowledgment or response so please Cabrini do not ask me to put the feedback on your web page. One time. Had a nose operation. They didn’t advise me that I would wake up with my face almost entirely covered in gauze. I am claustrophobic. The recovery nurses took me to my room, I came to and had a panic attack. The ward nurse started shouting at me to calm down…whilst I am having an extended panic attack! The recovery nurses told her to get out and helped me by removing some of the gauze.nOn another occasion I was in because due to an operation, I could not pass any urine or motions. Again another nurse screamed at me to go to the toilet and pee and poo after I advised her I couldn’t. I actually pressed the button and asked another nurse to ban the previous one from dealing with me. I then had another procedure related to not being able to pass anything.
