Overall this place was great. Very good drinks selection and reasonably priced. They accommodated our large group and the bar staff were absolutely fantastic. I would go here again if looking for a good night out. Highly recommended.

We went for my boyfriend's birthday and had an amazing dinner! Everything way cooked to perfection and was beautiful. Would highly recommend the bacon starter and the Wakanui Steak. The flat bread starter, however, was quite small for tge price tag and wasn't really worth it. It was awesome service and a lovely night.

9th May 2018 - Awesome dinner 🍽️ tonight. Kiddo had a crumbed fish 🐟 with green salad and fries. I had a delicious 😋 braised Canterbury merino lamb 🐏 shoulder. Bloody nice, bloody great and bloody terrific food. A good place to hang out with friends. Good and relaxing atmosphere, with upmarket settings. Part of Rydges Hotel establishment. They serve wines, beers, spirits/ liquors and cocktails. Would I go back? Yes ☺

Beautiful steak restaurant which is part of the rydges Hotel. Gorgeous interiors and friendly and professional service. Had sirloin and eye fillet from their brasserie menu which came with coleslaw, chips and bearnaise sauce. At $36/$37 respectively you expect quality, which you certainly get! Very indulgent indeed. Only thing I didn't like was the cushioned seats but apparently my dining partners stool was very comfy.

Eaten here a few times now, but after tonight we won’t be back. The food is nice but not exceptional. The bar tenders are severely lacking and don’t get me started on the service. People who say this is the ‘best steak’ restaurant in Christchurch may be right. But when you basically have no competition, that’s not an impressive accomplishment. If you think this is a good restaurant, then I can honestly say you haven’t been to a good restaurant. In summary, a nice enough steak served to you by the staff of the local Burger King, washed down with a cocktail made by a blind person who has also unfortunately lost their sense of taste. Oh, and not to forget you will be asked to walk up to the counter to pay your $500+ bill. What a truely average experience this restaurant has become.
