Took a tour around the city on the hop-on hop-off heritage tram. Plenty of city info and history told by our driver with a number of stops to get on and off from historical sites to museums etc. Worth staying in for a full circuit first to help get your Christchurch bearings before hopping off to visit places. Love an old tram.
we purchased a ticket in advance. we just missed the first tram of the day, and waited 30 mins for the next tram. ended up a very busy day in town. Fanatsic tram around the town and staff very helpful.nSo easy for tourists to navigate around without getting lost.
This is a must do activity in Christchurch. We initially thought we would go on a ride to sightsee and then continue with our day. We were so impressed with the stops and tour guides that we spent the whole day hopping on and off at various attractions. We were thankful to the ticket office for allowing us to leave our pram with them. We hopped on with our 9 month old in a baby carrier and it was so easy to get around.The trams were nostalgic and fun and the operators were entertaining and knowledgeable. This was the highlight of our trip.
An hour to spend in the tram in the city is worthy. Tickets are full day hop on and off, so start from anywhere and then use the tram to visit different point of the city during the day. It is nice to keep the heritage tram operational. The main tram station in the Cathedral is very beautiful.
