Smash Palace is a bar and burger joint in High Street, Christchurch.

Story

Smash Palace specialises in local beer and wine. What started as a temporary solution following the 2011 earthquakes has grown into a Christchurch institution.

We take our burgers seriously and all items are scratch made on site.

Sitting in the middle of an earthquake-ravaged landscape, the bar is a great place to see how the new Christchurch is developing.

The food here taste delicious at a fair price. The burger with a side of fries will definitely fill you up. The ambiance is great and gets busy around the evening time. A great place for travelers and locals to grab a quick bite or a beer with a group of friends.

Unique outdoor bar in the heart of the still recovering Christchurch (following the 2010/11 earthquakes; hence the name of the place). Drinks and bar food are served from an old bus, and seating is outdoors only - with large parasols of course. The place is popular with a diverse and lively crowd. The bar food is standard range, reasonably priced and good quality.  One drawback is that the outdoor setting invites smokers. Otherwise, definitely a fun place to kick back and socialise.

So cool. We went here late at night after some drinks. It was cold out so they gave us a bunch of hot water bottles. Loads of fun and something different plus good beer and snacks.
