Story

Tucked away in a residential area, New Farm's Bitter Suite is located on a leafy corner in a beautifully-old red brick building. It's the ideal spot for those of you wanting to venture off the beaten main roads in search of a relaxed yet buzzing locus. The building was once used to assemble tanks during WII; now the high ceilings and rustic interiors standout to make this 'suite' the perfect place to brunch, wine & dine, or hold an event. Relax and enjoy the balmy weather outside or when inside appreciate the chandeliers above. A passionate & knowledgable team nicely compliments the laid-back atmosphere that is Bitter Suite - making it casual dining at its finest.

We have a rotating selection of beer and cider on tap and an extensive selection of bottled beers and ciders; all of which are from boutique micro-breweries. We also have growing wine list and a unique cocktail list with a focus on Australian distilleries.

Having an extensive background in fine-dining, our head chef, Joshua Tollett, is passionate about creating high quality dishes with an "everything made from scratch" ethos. Each dish is plated to perfection and full of flavour; one could say that our chefs are quite the culinary artists. With a seasonal à la carte menu for brunch, nibbles, and dinner, and new and exciting chefs specials and events, there is always something new, unique, and delicious on offer.

We have some amazing function spaces to host your next event, at no cost. Our beautiful wine cellar is perfect for cocktail style parties or long table tapas dinners for those formal occasions. We also have lounge areas, alfresco dining, or a great bar space for a more casual and relaxed atmosphere.
