"Billilla Homestead located at 26 Halifax Street in Brighton has had an illustrious history.Primarily used as a residence up until the former Brighton City Council purchased the property in 1973, the building has been used for weddings, events and as an additional campus for two schools.At the 23 June 2022 meeting of Bayside City Council a report was presented regarding the future of Billilla.Council was unanimous in its decision to adopt the first recommendation, approving the future use of Billilla as a centre for:• creativity, culture and the arts• hospitality and events• learning opportunities• social enterprise and volunteer activities"

I grew up in the area and it was always well managed until a few years ago when a bunch of Chabad Lubavitch Jews took over the house. Ever since the place has been in dis-repair and generally filthy. Such a shame to see the old neighborhood dirtied up with this filth.

My favourite on-leash place to bring my dog. He enjoys exploring this big area. For us humans there are benches or grass to sit and relax on. The sound of the fountain, birds singing, and trees rustling makes it the perfect place to read a book or do some yoga. There's also ample shade for hot summers.

A nice place to go if would like to take some photos, the gardens are very neat and the outside of the building is open to your imagination for photos . It is sad that you cant see the inside of the building, but for the price of free to take photos what more can you ask for.

Kind of disappointed with the garden. It wasn't very well maintained and you have no access to the mansion.
