Fondue in a bowl! Okay, let me start again by saying the place is well presented, all tables are kept clean and rotating staff keep an eye on used plates. They are polite and relaxed despite the ongoing work around them. Lighting is at a suitable level that is not glaring and the outside has adequate shade when the sunshine goes in.nSound level is at comfortable decibels, especially since there are various barriers around that break up sound. Plates are much much cleaner than most buffet I've been to and well stocked. I'm definitely going back with my wife again. Ps. Please cook the carrots longer, thank you
There were some hits and misses at the Star Buffet, but in general, I liked dining here.nnWe came for lunch and arrived before the opening time of 11.30 am. We found that a short line had already formed downstairs. We didn't wait for long until we were allowed upstairs, but we had to wait again to pay before entering the restaurant. It was very busy, but the line moved quickly. I found the payment and seating system to be efficient.nnThere were numerous food bars spread out across the restaurant. The way it was all set out was really conducive to the large number of people eating there, and we didn't have to wait or queue for food. It was continuously topped up, too.nnI thought that the Western-Asian food was done really well. As was the fried food. I wasn't too keen on the roast and desserts, though. Salads were average.nnService was excellent. All staff we interacted with worked so hard. They were very courteous, helpful, and cheerful. Our table was constantly being cleared, and despite the large number of guests, the restaurant was very clean.nnI also really liked that there was no dining limit, so we did not feel rushed at all.
I've been to most RSL buffets in the area, this is nothing short of the same however with an extensive waiting line at almost all days. For the price you can't complain for what's provided. Most foods are okay, some consistency changes for particular dishes.nnThe flavor profiles is what you would expect if you were given a free for all at any westfield food court. Chips were overcooked, the seafood variety had sand particles or sights they have not been processed properly. One major issue is the register seems to manned only by a single person resulting in long waiting queues, I would give it a one off as okay not entirely bad or specially good either.
First time eating here. There was hot and cold food nicely presented and replenished as fast as they could. Popular items like scallop vermicelli went quickly. Disappointed Roast pork and duck was very salty. Other Chinese dishes like Fried noodles, black bean shell, mussels in white sauce, stir fry vegetables were delicious. Vegetables dumpling and sticky rice were nice. Loved walnut bun it was a sweet bun. Didn't try sushi train with mini sushi as people stood where it came out and took all the fresh popular sushi. Also had a hot soup station and cold cuts station.nFairy floss was the highlight and not too sweet. Lemon meringue was ok couldn't taste the lemon and was beautifully presented. Oranges were not very fresh and watermelon didn't look appetising. Have to try at least once. Don't pay for the drink cup as hardly drank. Too busy eating. They have water. Free parking across the road at Marion St Parking.
