A real golfing gem. Take the wind out of the equation, (if that is possible in Ballarat!), and this is a fantastic regional golf course. Every hole different, fairways full of slopes and surprises (don’t know about plonking a tree in the middle of a fairway), greens challenging. Great clubhouse and facilities. Puts many private clubs in Melbourne to shame.  Will be coming back here.

We visited the bistro for a quick meal, but ended up waiting one hour for our meal. It was a roast of the day and tough as old boots. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but I had to cancel dessert so we could make our booking for a show.

Only been to restaurant but food and desserts were are good sized portion and were pretty good. Not a massive selection but was varied with a bit for everyone. Suitable price for what you are getting. Staff were very helpful and were nearby whenever needed. I did go once before to put a bet on for Melbourne cup but no TAB facilities
