It is just the worst post office I’ve been to. It’s really dirty, it’s often understaffed with queues of twenty people spilling out onto the pavement. The main bloke is friendly, but some of the other people working there are difficult to communicate with and can be quite rude. It doesn’t sell the products other post offices would, and the display shelves are not stocked or even clean!
The printing machine at this store is a faulty one. After connecting the usb, I was expecting a pop window to show up and then I could choose the number of copies to print. However, this did not happen. As I clicked the screen three times, it printed documents repeatedly instead of warning/asking me how many copied I would need. Just because od this faulty printing machine I had to pay extra for the unwanted copies!
Stay away from this post office/news agent. Their customer service is literally dangerous, my partner went to post a parcel and while writing the address using a pen that was for sale, intending to pay for it, he got attacked by the lady in the store then the guy, she accused him of trying to steal the pen while he was writing the address, jumped on him and pulling the pen of his hands, he said “I will pay for the pen”, the guy joined her and both attacked my partner, they refused to sell him the pen and called the cops. He is now banned for 24h of the area, SERIOUSLY??? , like what would a 40 year old decent man just trying to send a parcel gain from stealing a pen??? At other post offices, you grab a bag, tape, pen, present, sticker, whatever to create your parcel then walk to the register, like in a normal decent world. Dont touch anything in that shop you’ll have a crazy lady attacking you physically. And we can’t do anything about it, Australia Post should at least let us put a complaint against this shop. If they were reaaaally concerned about loosing a pen they could ask first at least, not go straight to physically attacking a customer.
The staff here are always so patient and kind, despite some of the people they have to deal with every day. It’s always a pleasure picking up my Mail from here, and getting to admire the owners gorgeous lashes!
A big shout out to the tireless, patient, and incredibly efficient Sheldon, Lee and Cindy. Their customer service is fantastic during such a stressful, ongoing period. Each time I collect from here they are smiling. On several occasions I see customers swearing, throwing tantrums, or otherwise criticising staff who are doing their best. God forbid st Kilda west residents should have to wait in a queue for their yoga pants.
Unfortunately the staff of this post office has been extremely incompetent and wasted a lot of my time. After having received a card to collect my parcel at this office and going there to collect it, I was told by a Chinese lady who barely spoke English that my parcel hadn’t arrived yet and I should come back later. I returned home and came back later that afternoon once again trying to collect my parcel that was meant to have been delivered the previous day and was told again that my parcel was not there and if I could provide them with a tracking number. Not having received one, the Chinese lady told me to call the Australia Post Hotline and enquirer there about the whereabouts of my package. I remained inside the store and called the hotline from there and, after waiting 10 minutes in the queue, the Chinese lady came back to me letting me know that they have now found my package. What would have happened to my package if I hadn’t waited inside the store to call the hotline and instead had relied upon the hotline to locate a parcel that was correctly dropped at this very office but couldn’t be found by its staff? Even though my last name was in big fat capital letters clearly written on the top of the parcel, her explanation was that the parcel didn’t also have my first name fully spelled out, but instead, only the first initial. She then requested my to see my ID drivers license two more times, which, by now, I had already showed her three times. After finally walking out of the store, the Chinese lady asked me a sixth time for my ID now telling me she needs to scan the package and record the last 4 digits of my drivers license. she also asked me which state the license was issued, even though this is clearly stated on the license. How somebody with apparently zero knowledge of reading a basic ID document and zero customer service skills can work at a place Iike this remains a mystery...
Super friendly, helpful and efficient staff members. I came in today with several bags of packages and not only did the staff here do it quickly and efficiently, but while managing to keep the other queues short and moving fast. Definitely recommend this post office!
Went to the store to print off some papers using their in house printer. The younger lady that was staffed attempted to help me but then became frustrated and decided to tell me it doesn’t work and leave me to help other customers. I left the store disappointed, but after a couple minutes I decided to go back and attempt to print it myself. After a while I managed to get the printer to finally work. When I went to the counter I told the lady that I would gladly pay for the package wrapping I wanted but I wouldn’t be paying for the printed sheets as I felt she neglected to help me. She then took what I was attempting to pay for and the sheets, ripped the sheets into pieces in front of me then yelled at me telling her that I would not be getting the them since I refused to pay for them. I then went back to the machine to print more sheets since the printer was now working, where she followed me to the machine, while yelling she rips my USB stick out of the printer causing it to break and then unplugs the printer telling me she was gonna call the cops if I didn’t stop being so unreasonable. Avoid this place like the plague. I went to the place next door and they printed it for me with no issues, it even cost me less and I didn’t have to do it while being accosted by a crazy lady. Australia post should be ashamed that they have someone representing their store that would even act half a bad as she does with customers.
I'm waiting for the parcels sent by my family oversea, never get a card in the letterbox or any other form of message. so I went to the post office to show them my tracking number and carry my heavy parcel home, extremely unhappy experience and happened twice this month, don't get my hope up in the delivery guy anymore.
Most neglected auspost. It either does not perform a lot of services that a normal auspost does or operator is not familiar with the product offerings. Opening hours does not support the general working class people have to take time off work to collect mail. Should open earlier!
