Went here whilst holidaying in Port Douglas, went to a few of the local seafood restaurants and by far this was the best. Simple seafood dishes that did not draw away from natural seafood taste. Waiter named Sheldon was very inviting and knew how to roll. Highly recommend! Peace Gomes.

Food was good, service was so confused, it was quite amusing. We immediately brought up that my colleague was allergic to both onions and dairy, to which both the maître d' and our waitress pointed out that all dishes except for the pasta were gluten free, which we had to explain had nothing to do with his allergies (since his allergy is quite strong, we needed to make sure they understood what the issue was). Then my friend ordered the fish of the day and "and 6 oysters to start" which was understood as "and soy sauce". After correcting the waitress, he was brought the oysters with a salsa _with_ onions, and his main with a dish of soy sauce. I on the other hand ordered the signature tasting plate, but was given a second serving of the daily fish. I didn't even realize since the daily fish was described as "kahuna fish, it's similar to tuna fish." but it ended up being a white fish similar to cod. Then the waitress came to refill our water glasses and ended spilling a half-glass worth of water all around the glass. The funniest bit however was trying to find out what "mamey sapote" is, which was part of a one of the desserts. We first asked a passing waitress, who confidently told us it was a sort of bell pepper, like a capsicum. Seeing our quizzical reaction, she asks a passing colleague, who immediately chimes in "it's a fruit that is like a cross between a banana and a sweet potato". Finally, we asked our designated waitress, who explains it was a fruit extract with juniper XD. Service was however always very friendly despite being quite klutzy, and they offered dessert on the house (I didn't take the sapote).

Just moved to the Daintree from Sydney's Northern Beaches. We had lunch at Arabella's today and were very impressed with your restaraunt. The service was first class, as was the food. A very appetising and diverse menu would suit all palates. This is the best food and service we have discovered since arriving. We will definitely be regular diners at your cosy comfortable restaraunt. Thank you for a delicious lunch.

I'd have given this 5 stars if they had draught beer! Doesnt have to be a super wide range but need a few on tap IMO. With the only disappointment out of the way I have to say everything else was superb. Waitress made a point of telling us the oysters were "crisp and not creamy" which is rarely said, that confident comment got me in and she was right, so fresh in smell and taste. The dessert was recommended twice and it was so good. Was a "Mandarin Semifreddo" which isnt what my fiancee thought "half a Freddo Frog". It was mix between ice cream and Pavlova, white chocolate, I cant explain it but was great. Service was great, at times a little slack on the wine fill but when they are so friendly and personable when assisting/ busy you can forgive that. Will be back
