Definitely some of the best fish and chips I have had. They have crumbed fresh fish which is sometimes hard to find as well as paua or mussel fritters.
I used to live in Gisborne and whenever I return I always get a feed from here. The quality is always great. But my main reason for writing is that I was there recently and I was hugely impressed with the lady who was serving. There were orders flying everywhere with untold people coming and going. She was on top of it all. But better still, she said please and thank you to every person she served. These phrases are never heard anymore and I was really chuffed to find they aren't quite extinct yet! Well done!
'Under New Management' nChanged rating,forgot to give my change.nnYou have to go in and check for yourself,not sure of their experience.old management was 5 star.nnNote:The stocked fridges of fish,seafood salads, etc, are old management photos taken awhile back,so not as stocked now with new management when last checked.nnTime will tell,what's going on, gisborne? we're losing our very experienced cooks ,chefs,replacing them inexperienced newbies.
First time trying Aberdeen fish and chips, I highly recommend. The fish is what you want, fresh tarakihi in a crispy but light batter. The chips were lovely, also ordered a hamburger that came with some decent salad including beetroot! Delicious and so we will come back one more time before we return up North.
