Over from Australia on a holiday and tried this shop after reading the reviews. It is in the back streets a little so out of the tourist strip. The ship didn’t look like much from the outside but inside it is exceptionally clean out front and in the back (you can see through). You can tell the owners take pride in what they do. The food was fantastic, lovely batter and fish and the chips were perfectly proportioned so you didn’t feel completely stuffed at the end. I’d definitely recommend this place. Oh and the owner was incredibly polite and chatty regarding places to see etc.

Really nice food but the price of a scoop of chips or even half a scoop of chips is way to much for what you get the size of a scoop of chips is more like half a scoop and a half a scoop of chips is more like a quarter of a scoop

Beautiful fresh fish, not too much salt & hot dogs the way the used to taste.

Lovely friendly staff and Fish n Chips were really nice. Would definately come back when visting Gisborne again.
