This place came highly recommended, hence the disappointment was far too greater when it did not deliver. It is hard times for hospitality all over the world and we appreciate that this place was open and semi humming. It felt like they specialised in bagels. Hmmmmm. Doughy bagels, hardly toasted served with store bought chewy salmon, super dry and tiny capers and semi stale onions . Very very average. Store bought deep fried hash browns and maple flavoured syrup on french toast. Where is the chef talent here? Guys, we are sure you can do better than this. Good luck
We ordered the Mussels. Only for the Cook to come out to say that it has been off the menu “a while ago”. Please update the menu and front staff. The Prawn dish was looks pretty sad for $25. There was only 3 prawns and small salad. The cheesecake looks amazing sadly it had no flavour. Not your best day…
We've been twice now and the coffee has been consistently delicious - best we've found in Rotorua so far. Had breakfast as well today which was also yum - the 'Green Zip' and 'Little Italy'. Only improvement would have been if the Little Italy creamy mushrooms on toast came on nicer bread. Staff friendly and efficient - we'll be back Vegetarian options: Good veggie options, a bit more tricky for vegans. Dietary restrictions: Had GF and DF options on the menu.
Thank you for the hot coffee on a cold sunday afternoon while waiting for my connection Bus to Hamilton. Coffee was presented with some m&m's and a marshmallow. By what I could see also was the friendly vibe from cafe staff & customers. Very walm welcome. Thanks guys. Wheelchair accessibility: I dont recall steping over on the way in, it was flat, therefore wheelchair user are able to enter the shop.
They have a new menu so thought we'd try it. Front staff stuffed up one order so it was sent back. Then my daughter had to wait for the correct meal to arrive. Food was delicious. The children's portion of fish n chips was massive. Worth the money.
So frustrating. This place used to be great. Last few times have been average. Particularly went there for small flat white as they do them well. This time they up sized it to a regular without telling me they didn’t have small takeaway cups. Had to throw it out as coffee was too diluted. Also changed the menu so probably not going back. Will have to find a new favourite Parking: On street with meters
I came here every morning during my stay in Rotorua.. great breakfast and enjoyed the coffee. Service with a smile and loved the vibe. If I'm ever lucky enough to come back to Rotorua I will come back for breakfastFood: 5/5
Solid breakfast/lunch/coffee place. 12-15 tables inside and a couple outside. Fans on ceiling, but still a bit stuffy in back. Local art on walls. One outlet that I saw. Wi-fi with password you ask for. Substantial breakfast and lunch menu and selection of desserts. Small selection of decent bagged teas.
We enjoyed great coffee Supreme, excellent baking and friendly service during our walk around the shops and waterfront. Close to great ‘browsing’ shops for out of town visitors.
Zippy is always my go to place in Rotorua. It has a nice atmosphere, is warm in the winter and the food is good. The coffee has gone down a bit in my last few visits. It used to be great, now it's too bitter, and the presentation is really lacking. However, I dare say most people are used to bad coffee and won't notice.
