Touchwood Motor Inn

We stayed for 3 nights with our van on a non-powered site and were very happy. We can't confirm previous reviews on moldy showers etc. The showers were big, plenty of hot water, enough sinks and toilets available as well as hand soap and a hairdryer. The kitchen is spacious and has a lot of kitchen equipment such as toaster, fridges, ovens, kettles. Plenty of fresh water, picnic tables/benches as well as a community room, a dump station and even a swimming pool which we didn't use.nnThe only thing and the reason for 4/5 stars was the lack of transparency of the price per night. Different staff charged us different prices.

There’s not much options for powered campsites in Auckland so we booked a powered camp site for two nights. The bathroom facilities require updating. There is no lock for the ladies bathroom and no doors for the showers, only a curtain which isn’t very secure and not very pleasant to use.

Called twice to make sure my room was still booked. Drove 2.5 hrs to check in only to be told someone else has taken the room I booked & they've got a room that $130 more than what I booked. Make it worse we had a wedding to attend that morning so had to get ready at a McDonald bathroom. Very disappointed & frustrated. Don't recommend at all. Pathetic

Rupid and Lisa provided an incredibly positive and safe experience for my family and me during our time living in a tent. The campground features a pool and is fully monitored by security cameras. The facilities are maintained to the highest standards, and management has a strict no-nonsense policy, ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for everyone.

This is for the campervans, not the cabins.nnWe booked and paid online but when we arrived, there was no staff there. Apparently check in was before 7:30, but the site we booked on didn’t say that, neither did their FAQ. On the door it said “checking in late? No problem. Call…” couldn’t call since we had no NZ phone number and phone booth on site didn’t work with intl credit cards. Finally we borrowed a phone and the worker told us to go to a spot. Too bad he had told another woman who arrived at the same time to go to that same spot. When she called the worker, he was mad and said he was far away and we all should have been there on time. We ended up squeezing vehicles in and sharing the spot, and later we heard other guys saying they had the same problem that night.nnAll in all, it was fine to just sleep there. Showers were a bit dirty, but free. Location was good. But owners should have spots reserved and know who is staying where so overbooking doesn’t happen. Not sure if it was overbooked accidentally or purposefully, but it definitely made arrival a hassle.
