The Eagle Bluff

Great hotel with pub downstairs. Showers and toilets have recently been modernised and are great. Rooms are fine. Self-service breakfast is included and very good. Pub downstairs is friendly and welcoming with fine beer and a limited selection of tasty food. And all very good value for money.

Great local pub in Bluff, they were recommended by the people we are staying with while travelling, and we were not disappointed. Great time playing pool on good tables, welcoming locals and the service was excellent. I spotted a sign in their window on the way out, which led to a story about the Eagle's stance during the last few years, and I'm so glad to hear of the courage and integrity that this business displayed during all the ridiculousness of that time. Go in and shake their hand in gratitude I wish I knew this while in the pub, well done team Eagle, and thank you! For this reason alone, I'd support you again!! Loved our visit.

Very cool older hotel in Bluff. The rooms are basic but provide what's needed. The rooms are warm once you turn on the heater but the corridors are not warm, neither are the toilets. Currently a few shared bathrooms are under renovation. The shower heads are made for people under 5 feet tall so if you're taller than that, you need to crouch to wash your hair. Overall good stay for a 1 nighter.

Very friendly lady, the owner. Hotel right across the ferry to Rakiura. The room was absolutely fine, the bed was good. Showers and toilets on hallway also perfectly clean.nIf you don't require any fancy luxury, this is a perfect spot to spend the night if you're in the area and looking for shelter.
