The Devon Hotel - New Plymouth

Large hotel located a short distance to town. Car park outside the Hotel but it was full so we had to park on the street.nRoom was small but spotlessly clean, aircon worked well and bed was super comfy.nInteresting decor of hotel in the lobby.nMy room was in the front overlooking the lobby and I found it quite noisy with traffic hence why I didnt give 5 stars.nMy work colleague stayed at a rear room and hers was quieter.

They have bikes that you can use for free to go around. I think that’s cool, especially that this hotel is near tourist attractions.nnThey have spaces where you can work quietly.nnThere’s a heated pool, and I heard there’s a sauna, but I looked around and didn’t find it.nnThere’s a laundry area that has a washing machine and dryer.nnThe rooms are clean, and the beds are very comfortable. nnThe staff are nice and cordial.nnOverall, I enjoyed my stay here.nnPoint for improvement: microwave oven in each room.

From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was met with smiles and very helpful service.nRooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Big TV, big bed, loved the shower, location is great, easy to find and access, but the winner was definitely the restaurant! Fantastic price, amazing choices, all you can eat buffet. Staff were great, warm and friendly, quick to clear away dishes, but for tonight, the seafood chowder was the absolute winner. I ordinarily dont eat seafood, but for years have tried the chowder where ever its available, often they are ok to good, tonight, best seafood chowder I have ever had. Absolutely awesome. % recommend staying here, or at least coming to the restaurant, you wont regret it.
