The Brown Pub

I came to the Brown Pub because I was sick and did not want to stay in a Camper during a cold night. I really enjoyed staying in a comfy bed, warm surrounding, and taking a hot shower. Due to my disease I did not like the loud music, laughter and speech I heard till late maybe 11 pm. Other than that I really liked it there, but if you’re really exhausted, don’t expect sleeping before 11 pm. There was also a kitchen available.

Excellent value for money to spend the night. The rooms and rest of the place shared amenities were clean, except for some spider rag high up in the curtains. The bed is not the best but will do for one night.nThe staff is very friendly and the pub serves decent food for a fair price, though the drinks might be a little expensive as seems to be more and more the issue in New Zealand.

We loved staying here. This is a well maintained old pub. It was clean, warm , and comfortable . The veranda 'upstairs for in-house guests' is an added bonus that overlooks the center of town . Great staff and service.

Excellent stay in Methven! Very clean, comfortable, and quiet rooms, and great pub downstairs. Highly recommend staying!

Came here for lunch on a sunny day with our toddler. The outdoor area was excellent and the food was great too.
