Barkers Lodge is at the base of Mount Hutt ski area in the town of Methven. It is just an hour's drive to Christchurch's international airport.
Barkers Lodge is ideal for large groups with a large communal area for gathering and socialising.
This is also a great space for families - children can be occupied by two gaming consoles, wifi in communal areas or the pool table while parents stay in sight enjoying the delights of the bar including a vast selection of New Zealand craft beers. We offer great rates for children.
Barkers stays open for the winter ski season only. Large groups wanting accommodation outside the ski season should email the management. Many sports teams and extended family groups have found the accommodation ideal.
Buffet meals are available in the winter for those who have asked for these at the time of booking their accommodation.
Skiers and snowboarders training for races make use of the ski tuning room.
Next to Barkers are our Cedar Chalets. These are self-contained accommodation with a fully functional kitchen and laundry in each Chalet that operate all year round. Tony, the manager of Barkers, also has a large number of rental vehicles. He specialises in 4WD vehicles especially vans.
