Awesome backpacker place and one amongst the best in Nelson. Very international crowd and nice facilities. Staff and service is excellent. Kept very clean and tidy. The evening free pudding and social hour makes this place special.
One of my favourite hostels that I have stayed in my last 2 years of travelling. Incredibly kind staff, cleaning is on point and great atmosphere. The chocolate pudding is also a lovely treat to be remembered, nothing but love for this place!
Whoever runs this place doesn't care about other customers getting a good night's sleep. There is absolutely no noise policy, and no one asking backpackers to keep their noises down out of respect for other people staying here.nnLike someone else said, if you like the party vibe and all-night loud conversations, it's perfect for you.nnThe rooms are more homely and inviting than YHA, there's free chocolate pudding for supper if you want more carbs in your system YHA offer free bread in the morning if you want more carbs in your system, and the location is away from the main roads in Nelson so not too much traffic passing by.nnI should have stayed in my car, found somewhere private to park up and sleep, and saved myself $70.
They have all the basics covered here, plus many extra lovely details - a yard and porch you want to spend time in, little bowls of fruit and flowers, oil and spices in the kitchen, and the pudding is delicious. Staff are good people. Tho it's a few extra minutes walk to city center, it's closer to the pier, some of the river access, Founders park, center of NZ walk. Also the #3 bus stops at the front door anyway. Good stay thank you
Great people at the hostel, it’s the most social hostel in Nelson and has a free pudding with ice cream everyday at 8pm which is turns into really nice social gathering.nHighly recommended this hostel for all backpackers staying in Nelson!
