Payed a visit to Smyths Toy store on Friday and a most wonderful Kathryn from upstairs in the baby section looked after us really well. Kathryn was very Knowledgeable, patient&had a warm, caring passion about her job. Thank you so much Kathryn and Smiths Toy Store- Headford Road, Galway. There certainly should be more Kathryn’s in the world. Many Thanks!

I bought a car seat in Smyth's Galway a few weeks ago, it was a display model and the last one they had. We installed it in the car & it was a disaster, it wouldn't tighten & it felt unsafe. We spent ages going through each strap to figure out what was wrong but to no avail. I brought it back to Smyths in Galway & parked outside the door. I am also expecting a baby so I couldn't take the car seat out to carry it inside. I met a girl working there when I went inside, I explained the situation and she said she'd have a look. She could see there was something wrong somewhere but she'd need a closer look. So she took the car seat away upstairs & brought it back to me a little while later explaining what had been wrong and how she had rectified it. She stated if I still wasn't happy that we could swop or refund it, I liked the car seat and said I'd try it out. Throughout the whole interaction she was kind, friendly and so efficient. She really went the extra mile for me and I could tell she was a great worker, I felt lucky that I had seen her first when I entered the store. So thank you Kelsey, you are a wonderful young lady & the car seat has been perfect since.

Such friendly and helpful staff in the baby section. Got asked by 2 different members of staff if we wanted any help within about 15 minutes. They were very knowledgeable on the products and spent plenty of time showing us how everything worked without making you feel at all under pressure to buy. Really good prices for baby products. And they offered to help carry things out to the car for us too.

Tryed to call customer care loads of times in galway and no one answered and I rang so many time plus we to look at the baby stuff and when they said they are reduced prices they are lieing. There prices are gone up 20 to 30 euro. Shocking how they can get away with that. I was there last November/ December and it was cheaper and now there prices are up and saying in there shops reduced prices.

It’s really loud with a bunch of kids running around every shelf is messed up and some items on the floor if you have sensory issues or asd I don’t recommend coming here unless you have noise reduction headphones I found it really hard to function there because of noise and I was getting overstimulated

Went into this store today whilst on holiday in Galway . Went to the counter to pay for €250 worth of goods to be told by a very nice girl at the counter that the transaction on my revolut didn’t go through . Checked the account to be sure there was enough and there was . We tried the transaction several more times using both the card and the card via my phone in case of magnetic strip issue. No joy . She said she’d call a manager and I ran out to the car to grab my credit card to try that . The credit card wouldn’t work in their machine . The manager the rudest man !! proceeded to tell me in a loud voice that my cards must be blocked . I told him that I’d been using them all of my holidays with no issues whatsoever and that there must be a problem with the machine . He said the machines were fine and that my cards both completely separate banks and accounts must be blocked. I was mortified and annoyed at this stage and left . I then called my banks who told me that there was no issue with either of my cards and went to a service station close by and tried both which worked no problem . This “manager “ is a total disgrace and he certainly wouldn’t get a job working for me. The girl serving me could teach him a thing or two, not only about customer service , but about basic manners . Advice …. Go nowhere near that place if that’s the type of “management “ they employ

Not sure why massive toy superstore chain like this doesn’t have any nice little cars, tractors and other vehicles from Siku or similar brands. Even the Hot wheels selection is poor here and Super wheels is very low quality and brakes in few days. They have a lot of great stuff and selection of other toys, but little cars which my son collects cannot really be purchased here and we have been in several Smythtoys in different cities, more or less the same, very bad selection or none at all like here today. Other toy stores even small towns local stores always have at least few to choose from, so it doesn’t make sense Smyth toys superstore doesn’t have any.

Oisin in customer service could not have been more helpful today. Went above and beyond to help me with my collection and new purchases today. The guy who helped me with stuff to my car was very friendly as I found a lot of the staff today. I don't love the new layout and it seemed as if some of the staff still don't know where stuff is. Unfortunate the books are moved upstairs as I prefer to avoid a trek upstairs with small kids in tow.
