Can’t complain. I wasn’t there for particularly long, but it’s nice to have a decent outside area where you can actually talk to the people you are with, without having to shout at each other. And of course if that’s your jam, just head on inside. Drinks were good, staff seemed friendly, and in control. Great atmosphere, and the music was live - surprising for a small place.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here last night. Friendly staff, and a great singer/guitarist. Not cheap though.

This place has live music Monday to Thursday night. If you want to find a place that is not empty on a Tuesday night or any night, this is the place. It's known for its late nights. It's a recipe that has allowed the GC to keep killing it for 12 years. But for me 2 for 1 drinks from Mon to Fri 4-7 is what keeps me coming back especially when a pint in Ponsonby venues can cost $12 each. At the GC, 4 pints for $20. Yes yes

Great atmosphere and live music with amazing band.

Been a fan of this place for years the music on most nights is great hidden gem is upstairs to the right of the toilets along with 3 other cool spaces to share a beer with your mates never once have I seen any drama door staff do a great job. Safe place to get a glow on

We are from the UK but our 2 children live in Auckland. We always love going to Grand Central but on the 3 visits we have made this time we have been charged 3 different prices for the same wine. Sometimes 10 dollars a glass, sometimes 12 and sometimes 16. It makes us feel a little ripped off, maybe as we are not locals but we are not certain we will return.

A bit dive-y but that's it's own special lure. TONS of comfortable space inside, back, and outside. Great chill music. Overall, whether you're here to chat about records or let off steam from your work day, it's a pretty cool place.

Normally stop by here after dinner when in the Ponsonby area for a late night drink. It doesn't look very large but there are multiple seating options from the couches up front to the small tables on the side in the alley to the small room at the back of the bar. What's also quite nice is that they tend to have live music. Nice atmosphere but it can get quite loud since it is small.
