What a beautiful, boutique, cinema. Like a time machine it whisks you into the days when going to the cinema was an event - thankfuly without the queues. The seats are comfy and the staff are nice. A wonderful, next door, eatery take a meal and a movie to a whole new level. Northcote is a pretty neighbourhood worth a stroll as an additional extra.
Really enjoyed Le Degustation/ The Tasting at the French Film Festival. Highly recommend it. Staff at Bridgeway were helpful and friendly. Good to be able to get a wine with The Eatery next door closed on a Tuesday.
Went here for the first time a week ago and watched a film in the small screen at the front. The room smelled disgusting and made for an uncomfortable viewing. Not wanting to cause a fuss as we left, I emailed when I got home to alert them as maybe there was a damp issue or something. No response. Really disappointing.
Love bridgeway. It's my local cinema. The boutique environment has a lovely atmosphere with yummy food at a restaurant/cafe right next door. I always have to have one of the cinema's chocolate and peanut coated icecreams too.
Excellent, comfortable small theatre. Movie a bit on the boring side but WE chose it so not theatre fault !!! Friendly staff, very professional and helpful. I recommend you should try it.
The online booking system is not set up to be used with one of the bridgeways gift cards. It tells you to phone the theatre. However no one answers the phone and the answer phone is stuck in a loop. Not sure how one books tickets with such poor service! None of the advertised email addresses work either.
Love coming to this place. Very clean than most of the theaters now, staff are friendly and reasonable prices.
It's not super modern, slick or really flash and it doesn't always run seamlessly - it's more homely, comfortable and caring. AND they do excellent Things! For example, in addition to running most of the main stream movies, they also host interesting Film Festivals such as the recent and well attended Italian Fest. They have their Silver Club for 'Seniors' like me, a movie nibbles and Bar spot served by smiling helpful people, a good Web presence and Hockey Pokey icecream. Tucked away at the end of Queen Street in Birkenhead Point on the North Shore, this endearing Cinema is well worth many visits. Update 4/06/22 Currently enjoying the comedies of the French Film Festival at the Bridgeway. None of the reclining seats that my bad back prefers and the screens are not large. .. but it's very 'comfy' and greatly assisted by caring staffers and tasty goodies. Well worth a regular visit for genuinely interesting s.
Beautiful. Clean. Good service. Quality screens, audio and snacks. Old-school vibe creates a nice experience.
Would never attempt to watch a movie here again.. the guy behind the counter shouldn't be dealing with the public, he was rude and obnoxious to elderly ladies ahead of us, our movie was sold out so we popped down to The Vic in Devonport..super friendly!! Rather give my money to them.
