Certainly one of the best views from a cafe in NZ. The meals were served quick, and the iced coffee was interesting with the hokey pokey ice cream. The wedges were ok but the chips were better. There is a large shade above the outdoor dining area which is perfect.
Unfortunately we missed lunch at the restaurant and decided to eat at the Market Kitchen. The sirloin steak sandwich is NOT a steak which we anticipated. It’s cut up pieces of beef in cheese sauce on top of a long piece of garlic bread. I wish I could of taken a photo of the actual dish it self but honestly, McDs could of made a better impression and save myself $10 and get a drink included from a Big Mac Combo. Above is from my husband. My beef burger had 4 small pieces of cube size stew beef in it, lots of fries, paying $25 fries basically.
The views from the cafe is amazing, but sadly the food is not. We had to opt for having lunch here after the exciting luge rides. We ordered soup of the day - pumpkin soup and was probably the best part of lunch. We also had the vegetarian Pizza, which was weirdly sweetened with the jam. The vegan burger was so dry that we couldn’t really eat much of it. The chocolate muffin tried its best to salvage the lunch, but it wasn’t to be. I can understand the lengthy time wait due to the rush and being the only cafe. But the food should’ve been better. We also had an unpleasant encounter with a group next to us smoking despite it clearly being marked as a non smoking zone.
Big discounts if you have the annual pass.we really love the chicken pizza.. i personally love the milkshake. can get crowded especially weekends. Recommended!
This cafe deffinately lacks the x factor. The food is expensive, tastless, unimaginative, and absolutely not one atom of food value. The venue is fantastic, the experience good, until you hit the cafe. Don't waste your money people, go and buy something nutritious somewhere else. This is New Zealand, what are we doing serving this rubbish to our visitors and locals alike. Make NZ a foodie destination, its most certainly not this cafe. Did I like it, I did not.
Ordered a pizza which was ok. Fish and chips which is easy to make was not good. Chips was too salty and only one piece of fish in the dish for 16 dollars. This is on a Wednesday when the place is not busy. Kid-friendliness: Nice open space to sit with a great view of Rotorua Lake. Parking: Lots of parking
Worst service ever. A lady working at the cafe with a blonde hair and eyelashes extension. She was so rude. The way she served us really bad. When i asked how long it takes for the coffee, she said more 10 mins in sarcastic way with rolling her eyes. Poor level of Customer serviceFood: 2/5
Half of food order arrived 30mins after the rest and not what was ordered. Wedges half cooked. Guacamole not nice. Tasted like out of a can. Disappointing :
Probably the worst experience for a tourist attraction, no food as menu displays, menu has a lot to choose from however the cafe only provides pizza, no one to clean tables when others have left, we had to clean our own table before we could sit down. Definitely not worth the waitFood: 1/5
Lovely cafe with great pies, pastries and awesome coffee on top of the skyline. The views from the top are great as well. Good place for a quick breakfast with superb views
