Had the best experience here. The host went beyond my expectations by welcoming me with such warmth and also showing me my room etc explaining where and what everything does. I love the spa's and the size they are. The cleaning was always fantastic and the staff were always respectful. They went beyond by doing those little extra touches thank you Silver Fern Rotorua. It felt like a home away from home. My favorite part was the fact the t.vs are updated and have a build in Chromecast so you can cast anything you like. I'll definitely return and highly recommend
Had a great second stay here recently, service was great as usual with check in and check out being a breeze! Even accommodated my request to change rooms to a ground floor. Rooms are dated, which is too be expected as they’re shown as such but super comfy and spacious. Bathroom is also nice and spacious and the spa bath is a great addition on cold nights! Kitchen with microwave and mini fridge is super helpful for staying more than a couple of nights, only gripe is I wish their was a bigger TV to lounge and watch movies at night.
The motel is cery clean and tidy with all essentials. The kocation is very good close to waterfront and the shops.nThe best part is spa, which is clean, private with great water pressure. We enjoyed our one night stay. My son loved the spa.
Great location. We had a mixup with our reservation but they quickly resolved it and settled us in a nice room. We didn't take advantage of the spa tub but it's a nice option. Great shower, nicely appointed room, maybe not as nice as the photos indicate.
We booked a family one bedroom suite with spa pool. Not the best experience. While the receptionist was friendly, the “suite” itself was a disappointment.nnFlies greeted us the moment we entered the suite and they were circling the queen bed that was in the living room - we took them down with our antiseptic spray.nnThe bathroom facilities were old and shower was largely cold water with occasional spurt of hot - heating was not good. No wonder the receptionist had commented, “You might want to use the in-room spa to keep warm.” Because only the spa ie the big bathtub had hot water.nnThe big bathtub itself did not look clean despite me running hot water in it. End up all of us did not dare to use it and opted to go outside to another spa instead.nnThere is only one air conditioning for the entire suite. Which means if you’re staying in the bedroom with single beds, you only have a ceiling fan. No point opening the side door because that leads to the “in-room spa” which is covered and has a smell. Hence only way out is to leave your door open and share the air conditioning with the living room.nnFinally the beds were all not good condition. Queen bed in living room - both sides you can feel the hard springs popping out. So fortunately only one person slept on it and could sleep in middle. The two single beds in bedroom were overly soft - such that if you’re not careful, either side could give way and you’d slide to the floor. This unfortunately happened for a senior that slept on one of these beds - which caused injury.nnWe just came from a four star hotel in Auckland where we had a pleasant experience. We chose Silver fern as it’s a five star accommodation and had good ratings on booking sites. While I understand rotorua’s accommodation standards may be much lacking in general, I couldn’t help but feel we were at a 3 star hotel. We have stayed at service apartments before but never this standard.
