Cantabria Lifecare & Village

We had a family member who was in hospital and then was transferred here. He was recovering but the lack of care at Cantabria contributed to him getting sick again and eventually passing. The nurses are lovely but are really understaffed and do not have the time to check in most patients. They are really trying their best with the resources they have and we appreciated their efforts but ultimately we found the management team to be terrible to deal with and incredibly unsympathetic. If you are thinking of coming here or have family members with medical needs please reconsider.

Nurses are lovely, every single one is so caring. I hope they find work elsewhere. The management on the other hand is disgusting and could not care less about their residents and their families. The day of my nanas funeral I received a call asking “when are you cleaning out her room?” 3 days after she passed away and no prior communication. Since then I have made attempts to get in contact with a manager but to no one’s surprise, they aren’t around. It’s been a month now and they have not made contact or even sent an acknowledgement, final invoice - nothing. An establishment like this would have the unfortunate constant turn around of residents, therefore should have a bit more empathy on the way they handle deaths. Sadly the poor nurses weren’t told the news either, they only found out as we were removing furniture. Disgusting way to let the people who hold the most meaningful connections know about someone’s passing. It’s so upsetting that my nana spent her final weeks in this awful place.

4 days aguring to get my air mattress sorted. its on a slant. Staff seem to think it ok to make continuous loud noise. As ive work with clients with airbed i know this is not true. Staff are often really loud in the corridors at all hours. Oftern really loud at handovers, w.hich.nStaff do yell at client's I can hear them in other rooms. I've been yelled at by a few as I yelled from being pulled & pain.nIf I say something about loudness I'm just told no I'm not.nSaying this many staff are very good at doing cares.nExpect 1 guy who should have been sacked. He yelling often, then doing private care purposely wiped back to front. . Given the area this could be called something reallly bad even if not his intention, but the i got power over you look he was giving. Management never got back to me re this and he even came back into my room after been told not to.nDisgusting.nNot enough staff as per normal at rest homes. Too much profit.nFood is disgusting but then my normal diet is much different.

Started off good. I would NEVER EVER leave mum the again, substandard hospital care.

Worst place , nurses stay away from here.The last review just below is straight from his heart, i can see it.
