Fun little touristy activity to take in the Botanic Gardens surrounds. A very relaxing but short trip - 30 min loop you go out, turn around and come back. The punter gave us great information about the gardens and area around it.nProbably best to add onto some of the other tourist things like gondola or tram trip - perhaps not exciting enough to do on its own. You will def be a model for other tourists taking photos of you from the shore.nAll staff were very personable and enthusiastic. Just a warning to those slightly older that it can be tricky to enter and exit the punt - it’s a very low seat.nWe attended in mid September and can recommend leaving it till slightly later in the morning so that you hopefully get some sun and warmth.
Punting on the Avon River was a wonderfully relaxing experience! The serene surroundings, with lush greenery and calm waters, made it a perfect escape in the heart of Christchurch. Our guide was fantastic—friendly, funny, and full of interesting insights about the area. Their light-hearted humour added a special touch to the journey. Whether you're a visitor or a local, this peaceful ride offers a unique and enjoyable way to experience the beauty of Christchurch. Highly recommend!

I chose the Antigua boat sheds punting tour which took us through the botanical gardens. I also booked online which I highly recommend. It was a relaxing, fun and great ride! Overall it was a great experience and a must do when down in Christchurch.
Very worthwhile experience. Right from the start to the end, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Shane was very helpful at the counter to accommodate to our time slot and James was our host on the boat. His humour made it enjoyable! Thank you team for the wonderful time!
