Took the family for a weekday evening meal to Pomeroys as we wanted a nice but not swanky meal out in a relaxed environment with good local food. We weren't disappointed! The food and service were excellent, portions huge and high quality. In particular we enjoyed the steak and the reasonable wine prices. Attentive service made for the icing on the cake. A great end to our NZ experience as a touring UK family!
Enjoyed our time spent at this hotel. We drank and ate there at different times as it was just up the road from our accommodation. Great place to chill. Love how the dogs are allowed in the hotel. Staff were always helpful friendly and pleasant. Food was enjoyable.
My husband has been raving about the chicken burgers for years and he finally made me go.. I completely see why he liked them so much. Absolutely delicious. Service was super fast too. Highly recommend.
A hidden gem. This is the kind of pub you could have an intimate meal at or have a social feel. We had dinner at a booked table. The food did not dissappint, and we lost the sense of being a pub. Navigating towards the bar side of the pub, provided a more informal, social feel. The pie, burgers and steak were perfectly prepared and felt homey but restaurant quality.
Came tonight with some friends for dinner. I’d read a review that the chicken burger was awesome so decided to try that .. must say it didn’t disappoint. Absolutely delicious. Great attentive service too .. thank you team.
Awesome spot. The brewery bar had great staff, drinks and food although we showed up a little late for main menu. In the morning we went to the attached restaurant/cafe for brunch, also top notch! Overall, very worth checking out.
Super friendly and competent staff and a great selection of beers. A couple that they brew here and a bunch of other local Christchurch and New Zealand beers. You can get a taster tray of four for $24. The Pomeroy’s Captain Garcia hazy was my favorite.
Great food, a bit of a twist on the norm but plenty of scope to fashion your own version of the menu. The staff and service is excellent, friendly and there to ensure you have a good experience. Some of the tables are a bit close if your conversation is super private. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options available. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible but I would recommend booking to ensure you get a more spacious position.
We booked dinner here and it was truly magnificent. The groper fish was perfectly cooked and I had one of the best steaks I’ve had. Generous portions and an excellent range of beers.
We loved this place! It is a perfectly authentic British pub with great pub food, friendly servers, good beer choices, a fun atmosphere, and very comfortable, lively atmosphere. We had hazy IPAs and excellent fish and chips. If we lived in Christchurch we’d be there often. It was a perfect place to come into from a cold and rainy day.Recommended dishes
