I visited with my family on Saturday night, we just loved it, food and drinks was great and different to the other Mexican restaurant which was lovely and awesome. Staff was very friendly and Good with us especially manager Mia. We visited this place many time before Staff ,food and margaritas are always great. In food we have many options tacos, nachos and many more but always my favorite fried chicken and churros that I got only in Mexico restaurant. Best Mexico restaurant in Christchurch city
We have been going regularly to this place for over 5 years now. It had it’s ups and downs all depending on the management, but overall it’s a solid choice of vegan Mexican food that never disappoints. There are always few good vegan options on menu and food is delicious. Plenty of small plates to share which is best way to experience yummy food. Menu keeps changing every few months and there is something for everyone taste. Mia as current manager always makes everyone feel welcome and that really matters and adds the cosy home feeling. If possible avoid Sundays as it’s “kids eat free” day and always very busy.
Menu has got alot better last couple of changes. Way more vegan options which is a good thing. Staff were good and helpful. Margaritas are unique and very tasty. Over all the place has improved alot, tequila range has sadly reduced. Prices little high for some options, but food is great! Vegetarian options: Awesome range of vegan/vegetarian options now. And seem to be adding more frequently.
Great atmosphere and service. Tacos not as good as other Mexican restaurants in chch but the other food makes up for it. Delicious margaritas and so many flavours to choose from. Food comes out fast and generally has lots of flavours.
The service from our waitress was amazing!!! Tacos are good for $8 however the chicken birria a bit over priced. And the cauliflower is very over priced and spicey is an understatement. All else very delicious maybe stay away from the cauliflower and beef burger a bit dry!
Nice food, drinks and atmosphere. Enjoyed the fried chicken, beef nachos and guacamole. Our fussy toddler ate all of her food - the Mojito was delish !
We went there for dinner so we could find a parking easier as it located in city center. Compared to the other famous Mexican restaurant the decoration of it is more simple. Food is fine.
Just loved it; food was great and different to the other Mexican themed places which was lovely. Staff were also very cool and looked after me well - I was dining alone, which can be aweful with the wrong treatment by a restaurant. Really recommend this as a great way to enjoy a meal that punches way above what you expect for the price it's also very cost effective.
Great place for a work lunch. The $22 set menu was worth it. They were busy but we got our food in good time. Drinks Vegetarian options: Yummy cauliflower, avocado, vegi tacos
Disappointing experience at Mexico tonight. For $140 it's overpriced for what it is. Guacamole - $15 for one small avocado, unseasoned. Chimichangas - were tasty but fried in old oil Beef Taco - Onion rings that were rubber and really a strange addition, more fried food. Lots of cabbage that isn't fresh. Prawn Taco - Fried again, not fresh - average. Beef Birria - unseasoned, came with an Asian style sauce and very far from actually Birria. Pork Taco - fried again, but was the nicest. Fried chicken - Best item on the menu, again fried food and they're using old oil. Not sure how they managed to dry out chicken thigh but a change of oil would be a start. Drinks - Flavourless, coloured sparkling water. The cola was nice. Service was rushed and average, no water and silly surcharges for public holidays. Much better Mexican restaurants in Christchurch at better prices.
