Otumoetai Doctors

3/4 of the receptionists are horrible. Great doctors, but the receptionists ruin it

Have always had a good experience with my doctor at Otumoetai Doctors.

Warmly received at reception on arrival. Appointment fulfilled promptly. Mask exemption respected. Been a regular high user patient here for 15 years. Great team of doctors, nurses and administration.

Called and asked about registering at this clinic as my partner and I have just brought a home a few blocks away. The receptionist on the phone was extremely helpful and advised there should be no issue with registering and I would just need to come in and pick up a registration form.nnWhen I came in to pick the form up I waited for close to 10minutes to be acknowledged at the counter there were numerous employees wandering in and out of the reception area with no one coming to serve me, when I finally did get served the receptionist was extremely rude. I explained that I had been informed that I could register by someone from the clinic and she said No we aren't accepting new patients. I explained what I had been told the previous day and she again tried to say no they wouldn't accept me. After more back and forwards she reluctantly and rudely finally accepted that she needed to honour what I had been told and gave me a form.nnIt sounds like there has been a miscommunication between the receptionists about accepting new clients but regardless, there is no need for such a rude attitude. Looking at the other reviews this isn't an uncommon experience. I wont be registering there as I dont really fancy being met with such hostility when Im trying to get healthcare!

Quick, clear, concise diagnosis by a very nice young male doctor who even apologised for his cold hands which were actually lovely & warm!. Felt very welcome & understood/listened to. No mess, no fuss just good solid advice & a perscription sent immediately to a local pharmacy of my choice. Almost worth getting sick for! ‍
