Orewa Beach Fish & Chips

Great place and a great location. Whenever I come out here for work, try to come here whenever I can. Confused as to why some people give low stars, I've never had an issue here.nn- Snapper 9.3/10nGreat consistency when it comes to their fillets of snapper. Also, the batter is light and golden.n- Chips 8.4/10nI like the seasoning they put on the chips, and the serving is a decent amount. I'd like more of the seasoning for the chips.n- Scallop bites 7.3/10nThey were ok. The bites have a nice crunch, and we're good to have as a side to the combo.nIf you're ever in orewa, check this shop out, and enjoy it at the beach.

When ordering a mini cheese burger I ask the female staff member if the burger has any sauce as i dont like mustard. And was told there would be none. I asked for the burger no pickle so was just expecting meat, cheese and bun. When the burger arrived it had mustard and tomato sauce, only found out when I bit into it. Had to throw it away.

Excellent fresh fish & crunchy chips & best potato fritters done just how we like them, a welcome change to receive our meal in a solid serving carton instead of squashed in rolled newsprint. Staff were friendly service quick plenty of instore seating for dining, Will definitely return.

Got the $7 chips and I'm totally disappointed. When I questioned the amount given I was told that is correct. The fact they didn't bother to fill the box after questioning the amount and got brushed off is what makes it even worse. Won't come here again. Rip off and oily too. Don't recommend it..

Got charged $48 for 2 peoples dinner! 2 fish, 1 hotdog and enough chips for 2 people. Felt like pretty outrageous prices for what you get. Fish and chips is meant to be one of those cheaper takeaways, and maybe that sounds entitled, but I ordered on the phone unaware of the pricing, so that’s my fault, but jeez. I do understand inflation and all that but I’ve never ever witnessed such unreal prices. $13 for ONE piece of battered fish? $7 for one scoop of chips? The hotdog didn’t even have sauce on it and was bland. Asked for chicken salt on the chips, which they said was available and it wasn’t on there at all. Food wasn’t bad or anything, and I see lots of great reviews, but for being that expensive - it was nothing to write home about. Certainly never going back.
