Nectar Espresso Bar + Cafe

Amazing cafe! When we walked in the sweet smell of brownies baking immediately made us hungry. We love the fact that the ingredients are ethically and locally sourced. I personally recommend the sweet potato and chilli soup - it was phenomenal. My 5 year old son gave the porridge with blueberries and hot chocolate "165 thumbs up!" The staff are so friendly, we will definitely be back

The food and service where amazing! It's a must try if you are vegan/vegetarian or simply need to have a relaxed breakfast or snack. It also has free tampons and pads in both bathrooms which is amazing. Vegetarian options: They had vegetarian Haggis which is a traditional Scottish plate and it was very good! All the other vegetarian options were very tasty as well.

I’ve had a numerous number of salad bowls in different countries and price points and this salad with generous amounts of quinoa and grilled broccolis hit the very right spot. Each vegetable does their job when mixed altogether and I could feel the harmonious mixture in my mouth throughout my lunch. And their service and ambience were also impeccably welcoming! Little and cosy but vibrant at the same time. Delicious and nutritious food is served by wholehearted people in such an amazing place. What else do you need?

We live round the corner and were looking for new brunch/cafe places to try a couple of weeks ago and came across this wee gem. Food and coffee was lovely and very reasonably priced. Also a good variety of vegan/dairy free options which was perfect for my partner. The cafe was clean and fresh and very well decorated. The staff were also amazingly friendly and welcoming, you could see that they really did care about what they were doing and had a passion for the cafe and the service they were providing we also got to try one of their cakes for free. I really enjoyed working here, and getting some coffee and food. Customer service is extraordinarily good. The staff really care and will make sure you’re well looked after. This is a massive strong point I can’t emphasize enough! Atmosphere and decor is outstanding too.

The food was so good! We had focaccia sandwiches, very well cooked and super tasty. Lots of vegan options, for both lunch and breakfast. Very friendly staff as well. We'll definitely be back. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan options available.

My number one new favourite cafe on Leith Walk! Amazing coffee one of the best flat whites I've had, sandwiches the size of your head for very reasonable prices, great decor and music, and the guy who has served me every time is an absolute ray of sunshine. The only thing I'd make known to others is that the toilet is downstairs so maybe not the most accessible if you have mobility issues, but sadly that's just the norm in old Edinburgh buildings rather than the fault of the owners. Other than that, I urge everyone to go check these guys out!

Visited Nectar last week. Great service, very friendly, really nice atmosphere . The Focaccia sandwiches and soup were absolutely delicious - not to mention the cakes that were amazing. Will definitely be visiting again. Kid-friendliness: The staff made a picky plate to keep my 10month old fed.

Loved the homemade focaccia and the carrot cake was amazing too. Dog friendly as well! Made our dog so welcome. I recommend everthing about this cafe. Vegetarian options: Good selection of tasty veggie and vegan options. Kid-friendliness: Welcoming to children and pets.
