Found the coffee underwhelming. The corned beef and potato hash was beautiful, the beef was nicely tender. Yet the dish was strangely bitter and uneven in temperature. I would have enjoyed it more if the beef, potatoes and egg were all warm but only the peas seemed to be heated. Also, a nice crisp on the potato would have added some texture.
Neat little cafe, in competition with Vogel st kitchen right next door. In terms of ambience, space, and variety of items, I definitely think I appreciate Vogel st kitchen more. The space is quite small and slightly cramped with close placed tables and high stools mounted next to small square desks-which definitely would not be enough space for me to spread myself out. Apart from that the feel is still nice but would pick other places over this. I got their house smoked salmon bagel and my friend got their orange and maple toasted muesli which were both averagely priced. The portion of my bagel was way smaller than I was expecting. Although it was fresh and tasty, not sure if the price is worth the amount you get. The salmon was well cooked though, not overdone and tender. I just wish there was a bit more. The bagel quality was alright, but honestly I haven't come across a cafe that has bet beam me up's bagels-in both quality and price! 3.5/5 The muesli had a fruit paste and coconut cream that accompanied it which was a nice touch, however the muesli itself is just a nutty blend, similar to granola you can purchase at any grocery store. Nothing super unique but tasty, sure. 2.5/5 Alright food, average ambience, service was okay, although I did enjoy my time there catching up with a friend, nothing spectacular stood out to me to warrant another visit. 3.5 food, 3/5 overall.
How they treat their casual employees is so disrespectful! I do not have any words… if you are looking for short term work this is definitely not the place for you. They fire you without prior notice… It is such a shame to have this experience because the cafe looked really and all the staff was super friendly but the manager needs to learn how to respect their employees and honesty is just key!
Charming place with lovely dining areas indoors and out. The coffee is good and there is a nice selection of sandwiches and bakery items.
I like want the place it is very nice inside and outside as well but it needs something for the outside to make the people to go outside as well in the cold weather around.Food: 5/5
Incredible private function hosted by Joe and the Heritage team, superb staff and wonderful atmosphere. The courtyard is an added bonus; a simply beautiful place to sit and enjoy a drink. Food was delicious, Bao buns were a hit! We would absolutely recommend Heritage as a venue hire, we cannot speak highly enough of this place! Worth popping in during the day for a coffee, and the evenings they are now open for a drink and some delicious food. #venuehire #dunedin #heritagedunedin
My wife, our dog, and I tried Heritage Coffee for brunch on a Saturday morning. We sat at an outside table and were pleasantly surprised by how traffic noise was not a problem. The aspect caught the sun nicely. The staff were professional and friendly. Our meals were beautifully presented, very fresh and tasty but also healthy and good value. The ciabatta bread was amazing, as were the mushroom and rocket salad and the iced chocolate. In fact, everything was faultless. Will definitely return and recommend to others.
Just as good as Vogel St next door, which has some stiff competition from this place. Great coffee and creative dishes for brunch. Cabinet food selection is broad and most come with side salads so it’s healthily balanced for your diet. The only issue is that there are only a few tables inside, but the outdoor tables shouldn’t be a problem in the summer when it’s warmer than 10 degrees and not raining.
great food, not much selection though. had the Salmon bagel with capers and scrambled eggs with salmon. coffees arrived late after asking the staff where they were.
Really nice atmosphere here! Coffee was good too
