Amazing food!! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to eat not your standard Indian food! Especially the items on the street food side were great! Food was all consistently great and came out quickly.... Love the decor and concept will be back for sure!
Incredible food! We had an excellent selection of vegetarian takeaway items. Everything was very flavourful, and had just the right amount of heat. We would highly recommend the Dabeli. When we went in for pickup, the atmosphere of the restaurant seemed amazing, and we were blown away by the delicious smells from the kitchen. They offer a 10% discount on pickup order which is a nice touch.
Fantastic restaurant. The food is exquisitely stunning. If you have not been here get here soon. You won't be disappointed. Easily the best Indian cuisine you'll find. Flavors and spices are next level amazing.Food: 5/5
Nice place, nice ambience and nice people. The food quality and quantity was good. Neat and tidy place. Really nice and tasty preparations, according to our taste. Giving 4 stars only because of the prices, they were expensive.
Our first vist to Christchurch and Mumbaiwala was the first restaurant we had dinner at. The restaurant itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with traditional decor and soft lighting that creates a cozy ambience. The staff are very welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every customer is satisfied with their experience. Booking is recommended as it gets busy during dinner time from 6pm to 9pm. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu is extensive and offers a wide variety of dishes, from vegetarian to meat options. I particularly enjoyed lamb dhansak which was rich and flavorful without being too spicy. The naan bread was also delicious and served fresh and warm. They have a good selection of vegetarian options, too, and I found the Paneer Saagwala to be particularly delicious. The portions were generous, and the presentation was impeccable. Finally the cardamom and coconut kulfi was out of this world, one must have this and you won't regret it. Higly recommended . Vegetarian options: A variety of vegetarian options just ask the helpful waitresses. They also have vegetarian biryani just have to order.
As soon as you walk into this restaurant, you will have a good impression of it. My only question is whether the food here can be compared with its beautiful layout and great atmosphere. The good news is that the food here is also delicious. The naan cakes are delicious, the rice is soft, the food is as good as I requested, and the flavor is full.
My partner and I reserved this restaurant for dinner 8pm on our first night visit to Christchurch. The restaurant has an amazing ambience, very rustic vibe with great Hindi songs playing in the background. The restaurant was full and why not with such delicious selection of food that they serve. We tried Paneer tikka from tandoor and Cauliflower Manchurian from starter. Both dishes were really tasty. Mains we ordered were Paneer saagwala and lamb dhansak which comes with rice. We tried garlic naan and onion & coriander kulcha too. Mouthwatering as the Paneer dish did not have cream which is exactly the way I love with lots of greens. My partner loved his lamb dish as it was succulent and melt in the mouth. For dessert we had Cardamom and coconut kulfi ice cream on stick which came as 2 pieces. Very tasty and not too sweet, just perfect. We also tried the Indian chai and yes it was served in glass for the Indian street food feel. Customer service was superb. It gets really busy so be prepared to wait for a while for food especially around dinner time. Making reservations is a must to avoid disappointment. Highly recommend and will definitely return before leaving Christchurch. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian dishes and you can always ask to customize if needed. Kid-friendliness: Kids would love the variety of dishes to choose from. Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair friendly Dietary restrictions: There are many dishes to choose from to cater for any dietary requirements. Just ask the team.
Best Indian food without any food colours in christchurch I would say..A bit pricy but worth it. If you are a good Indian food lover it would cost you atleast a $50 to fill up.
So I was so excited to get food from this place after reading the reviews. I tried ordering thru door dash as they had a promo. I had samosas which was just okay, the tamarind dip though was good. And onion bhajis--which were overcooked? Burnt? Idk, perhaps this is just a one time thing. Still keen to try and dine in, perhaps it will be different. Door dash was quick to give a credit though.
Service was great, I was dinning by myself and the lovely waiter did a single portion of one of the starters so I could try it! Food was fast, fresh and deliciousFood: 5/5
