Indian Sumner

The food is the best indian food I have ever had, can't wait to go back again. I had dinner with my friend. The naan breads are light and fluffy unlike the naans at many other indian restaurants in Chch. There is a good selection of other breads too. In terms of the food, my favs were the Malai kofta and Palak panner The restaurant feels very clean and has plenty of seating. Duty Manager was so polite and helpful. Asked her about some dishes and she explained those really well. Highly recommended. Thanks

This spicy jewel of India is hidden on the Main Street of seaside township of Sumner in Christchurch. The menu is not large but full of choice, we could of decided between plenty of favorites. With Sizzling starters at $18 and Mains at $20 you can not go wrong. The meals were full of rich Indian flavors and large enough. Lots of rice supplied with main courses and the Garlic Naan felt very fresh. Will be back, and soon to try the rest of the menu. Enjoy, finger licking good ;-

Corianders sumner branch is one of best i have tried, a lot more dish options and menu is quite big , easy to choose any dish from menu . A big thank you to duty manager , she really helped me while choosing some vegeterian option for me. I phoned the day before to book a table of 8, i also explained we have 3 beers each to make sure there were enough cold beer for everyone. I made sure i phoned Corianders Sumner. I was was told they had draft beer and there heaps of cold beer. On arrival, there was no booking, draft beer was all gone and they served warm unchilled bottled beer instead our group. I ordered 6 portions of Onion bhaji, one come out. I was told that that was ordered. Staff were so deep in conversation behind the bar in an empty restaurant they didn't notice me clearing the table of empty glasses and used plates and cutlery. Curries were good, decore was great, but spoiled by the incompetence.
