Story

The iconic Mount Social Club building has been a Restaurant and Bar in Mount Maunganui since the 70's. In late 2014 the building had an extensive makeover using mainly recycled and reclaimed building materials, and was opened officially as Mount Social Club.

Many consider Mount Social Club the funkiest venue in town and testament to the industrial chic, its unique décor features stunning artwork, upcycled furniture, bathtub seats, a 1965 Land Rover for people to lean on, and a sailboat dining table.

We are a cafe, restaurant, tapas and wine bar, an events and function venue. We are able to cater for large groups, corporate functions, weddings and music concerts, all with a lively, friendly, accommodating and inviting atmosphere.

Our goal is to provide fine quality dishes, drinks and service in a relaxed, sociable and family friendly atmosphere, with the reliability of being available to the Mount community everyday from 12pm until 1am.

Passionate chefs using only free-range meat and fresh local produce make our food, offering great options for vegans and anyone on a paleo or gluten free diet.

On the menu, the ‘Super Social’ options include easy-to-share tapas-style dishes, which can be shared without cutlery and can also be an entrée to a main meal. The ‘Semi Social’ options include tasty main meals and salads, which can also be shared with side plates.

At the bar we have a unique selection of premium and craft beers on tap, some are exclusive to Mount Social Club and not available in any other premises in the Bay of Plenty region, our back bar has arguably the largest and best selection in town of fine spirits and rare liquors from all over the world.

We offer amazing live music during dining every Friday, Saturday and Sunday followed by the finest beats in town, featuring local and international DJs. On Thursdays we host the ‘Mount Open Stage’, which is a platform for new and original talent.

When customers hand over their Eftpos cards in exchange for a bite to eat or glass of their favorite drink, Mount Social Club members earn reward points for every dollar spent.

To become a member is not a requirement, it's a choice, and it's free. In fact, customers receive a $5 voucher for signing up, members get access to special offers, birthday vouchers and exclusive deals.

To sign up simply text MSC (space) your email address to 4664, complete your profile linking your bank cards to your membership. This is done through the Paymark network, which will recognise member's cards and automatically accumulate points as they spend. Mount Social Club do not have access to member's card details, it's really safe, and members get rewarded for being social. No need to show any membership or loyalty card.

As a local business we are committed to reducing the impact of our operation way below the industry average by being proactive recyclers, composting most organic waste, and adhering to sustainable practices, using only free-range meat, fresh, local produce, organic milk and coffee beams.
