Eddie's Brunch Parlour

Thoroughly enjoyed this stop. It may not be on the main drag of Mount Manganui but it did not disappoint.nI had the Mr Mayagi which was savoury mince topped with an egg on a rice rosti.nThe wife had mocha with chocolate croissant. Being Aussies she thought that it was one of the best coffees she has had since being on the north island for a week. The pastry was well layered and delicious. You can tell that the kitchen took pride and the presentation of their food and menu.nHonestly I had nothing at all to say about this place that wasn’t good. The only reason I resulted service 4/5 was that there was no real interaction with floor staff apart from ordering and it was noted that no table water was offered or bought out.nIf the kitchen staff read this. A nice improvement to the Mr Mayagi from my opinion would be a poached egg topper rather than a fried egg. So when you cut it open it just runs over the top of the mince.

We had breakfast at this place. It was ok, but there is room for improvement judging by our experience.nThe eggs Benedict was a nice looking plate, overall decent but there was a grave lack of seasoning, salt, in the hollandaise sauce. It was insipid. Smoked salmon on the side? It should definitely be incorporated in the dish, not put aside like an afterthought. They should also put something else on the plate because it felt naked. Perhaps some fresh fruits?nThe stacked pancakes were well presented on the plate, it looked appealing and was tasty. Alas, the pancakes should definitely be larger as to fill our belly properly, especially considering the price tag on these babies.nCoffee was sadly watery per those who drank it, and the Mount Sunrise smoothie was a big letdown. Watery also, both in taste and texture.nHopefully, the management can work on those points in order to remain an attractive restaurant.

Lovely cafe. Food is reasonably priced. Would highly recommend Eds McMuffin! Outdoor seating is very nice. My partner got the tuna melt and said it was yum. Highly recommend.

Tremendo desayuno. We came for the mediaslunas but couldn’t resist trying other things as well. The coffee was delicious, and the service was excellent too. Can’t wait to come back.

A nice and cozy atmosphere, however, the staff overstep many boundaries and are out right rude. While visiting Tauranga with my friends, we wanted to take photos for memories using polaroid's and phone cameras etc.nnAfter finishing out meal, we went to the bathroom where we had to wait because it was raining. For context the bathroom is outside of the restaurant but you can still hear the activity in the restaurant. While waiting, we overheard the staff talking about how we were 'wannabe internet celebrities and influencers' mocking the fact that we were taking photos.nnThis is a valid opinion if they feel that way, however, I believe talking about customers in the shop is very unprofessional, and it made me feel very uncomfortable afterwards and it made me feel ashamed and embarrassed about myself.nnThe food was tasty with a few items maybe being a bit salty, but that is personal taste and some others may really enjoy that, so props to the chef. Just understand that staff actively gossip about customers behind their backs in the shop...
