Came on a busy day and was informed of a 45 min wait. Food arrived approx 30 mins after ordering and was faultless. Coffee was excellent also. Would recommend the mince on toast and house made bacon.
Went to Tay Street beach cafe this morning for breakfast and a coffee. Coffee and drinks were good, service was attentive and friendly however we went very soon after opening, and cafe was practically empty. The vegetarian eggs bene was great with well crisped rosti. The waffle was good but nothing exceptional- definitely very sweet. Great views and very convenient as right on the beach, on the more expensive end.
Over priced & nothing special. Save your money and go somewhere else.nnSpent $160 for 4 people and everyone had to lap up their disappointment/hunger with a delicious ice cream from Tay St Store next door.nnCame for a late lunch 2pm and ended up having to order from the dinner menu - disappointing given it was the weekend and the options on this menu are incredibly limited. 2pm is also so early!!!nnThe server said the salad, burger and fish and chips were a ‘main’ size, so we ordered 2 fish and chips and 2 salads for 4 people.nnHad the salad for $28 which was tiny. I really don’t know how this price was justified!!! $16 would have been more appropriate!nnThe fish and chips were average $32 Chips under seasoned, tasted like cheap supermarket chips and absolutely nothing special.nSmoothies were also average. We had to change as they told us after they didn’t have enough ingredients. So disappointing when there’s so many other great places around, and when the neighbouring cafe absolutely crushes service and food.
Lunch for 3. Outside in courtyard. Beautiful day.nWe’ve been coming here for years and v rarely been disappointed. Tuna salad was outstanding as was the burger and fish n chips. Limited options in cabinet which is a pity as you may feel you have to eat from the menu which is pricey. However all cafes are now. It was busy which was great to see; and service was friendly and efficient. Really great experience.
First time here. Ordered Eggs Bene, one with bacon and one with Salmon.nInitially was very disappointed with the minimalistic plate serving, no greens, sprinkles. The bacon 1 single slice, but 1 cm thick, the salmon 3 tiny shaved slices, two small rosti nests balancing the eggs Bene on top. Started eating and it tasted divine, and, to my surprise, I felt more full after finishing it, than I was expecting from the plating.nThe service was very friendly. A bit on the pricey side.
