Merchant of Matamata

A bit disappointed really, waited over 40 minutes for lunch when there were only 3 tables, steak that was ordered medium rare came burnt on the outside and medium on the inside. Ribs that were orered was massively dry. Coffee was strong and nicely made.

Went to the Merchant to look at the Record fair, so had brunch, I had the Lambs fry and bacon on a mash. It was very tasty. Hubby ordered the light fish and chips.

We are locals so have tried majority of eateries in town.Service & atmosphere are great. My 11yr got fish n chips..looked beautiful but was yuck. 15year old got hock meal. Disappointed. I got steak meal that was average. Also ordered chicken nugget things for a starter those were dry & tasteless. They also came out 2mins after our main meals were served. Overall would not recommend.
