This is a great hostel with a great vibe. The hostel is centrally located with a great accessibility to travel around. What makes a hostel great is its ability to help the travellers plan their trip. This hostel has a travel desk that makes this job simpler. The rooms are great, the staff are friendly and the amenities/attached cafe are excellent. Their Staff Petra was super friendly and helpful. If you're in Auckland CBD, then don't think of staying anywhere else.

I had a good stay at Lylo Hostel in Auckland. The design and overall atmosphere of the place were really well thought out, making it a pleasant and comfortable environment. One of the highlights was the bar located directly below the hostel. It had a great vibe, and the food served there was absolutely delicious. It’s definitely a great spot to relax, grab a drink, or enjoy a meal after a day of exploring the city.nnWhen it comes to price-performance, I’d say it was quite fair. The rates were reasonable for what you get, especially considering the quality of the bar and the overall experience. However, the rooms were a bit of a mixed bag. While they were clean and functional, some of them didn’t have windows, which felt a bit strange and could be an issue for those who prefer natural light.nnDespite this, my overall experience was positive. The well-thought-out design, good food, and reasonable pricing made Lylo a solid choice for my stay in Auckland. I’d recommend it, especially to those looking for a place with a good bar and social atmosphere.

Great hostel, you get your own personal 'pod' so you get some privacy. The bar downstairs, Miss Lucy's, is a great spot they have something on almost every night. It's also a 15 minute walk to the nearest New World.

Great location, but the building is awful. The rooms have no windows, the ensuite doesn’t have a proper door so it’s like you’re sleeping in a room with a toilet. The kitchen was relatively small for the number of people it is meant to accommodate, which meant it was consistently dirty and messy. No space for luggage and overall was extremely overpriced for the facilities offered.

Great location and sense of safety here.nnThe staff are really really helpful and put your mind at ease.nOne night a girl had too much at the bar and it was great to see the staff give a lot of care.nnThe pods are really nice, could do with more ventilation though as mine after the week I was there was a bit unpleasant.nnReally easy to make friends here and the location is super convenient.
