Great tasting food and good prices for the main dishes! Roti was so yum, gotta come back for that. The curry puffs 4 were very small for $7 though, and my coconut rice didn't have much coconut flavour and was a tad bit dry. Overall still a good meal though and they did have a seat for us 9 people without a reservation so that was appreciated
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed. An enthusiastic waitress showed us to the table and arranged water to start. Rapidly took our drinks order and returned for our food order. Great service. Then the food arrived. It was wonderful. Very authentic Malaysian food. Spicy, full of flavors and proteins cooked perfectly. Rate this restaurant very high. If you like Asian food and in particular Thai food then you must give Malaysian a try at Little Penang. Malaysian has a greater variety of flavours and proteins. Little Penang was excellent, food, service and the atmosphere expected in a CBD.
Went here on lunch time weekdays so super busy but queue is pretty fast and food is fast serving considering they are so busy. I tried the roti and nona curry. Really good. I enjoyed it. They also have malaysian traditional kueh for dessert. Also the drink, they have milo dinosaur!! I don’t even know if I am in NZ or Malaysia anymore. Lol. Food is good. Definitely will come back!
We came here twice in a row thats how much we enjoyed it! The food came out fairly quickly which was great and is so affordable espeically for the portions given!Food: 5/5
Great spot to have authentic Malaysian food! The Hokkien Mee was great! Deliciously rich broth packed with beautiful flavour and heat. The ambiance brings me back to the high school cafeteria... Not great. Their pandan desserts however are addictively good!
2023 Highly recommend the Mee Goreng! This dish has a luscious sweet sauce and excellent savoury flavour with a hint of… tomato!? There is an excellent chilli oil used, too. The mushrooms and charred tofu give a great char hei aroma and flavour! There are loads of textures — chewy, sticky fritter; soft tofu; crispy lettuce and peanuts; and noodles with a slight bite! Sensational! This dish was $21.00 on the 11/03/23. Mamak Mee Goreng Vegetarian: egg noodles, fritter, mushrooms, sprouts, egg, firm tofu, lettuce, peanuts, and fried onions. 2022 Phenomenal Penang centric Malaysian food! My favourite dishes, which I highly recommend trying are Mee Siam and Char Kuay Teow! Their Teh Tarik is sweet, creamy, strong and delicious. Really love enjoying that drink after a meal. The prices are in the higher side for an Asian restaurant in Wellington, but it’s worth it. The portions are generous.
Loved the char kuey teow, best so fast I've had in wellington. Though there's no cockles but the taste is still great.Food: 5/5
Affordable delicious Malaysian dining in the Wellington cbd. Huge portions and the mee goreng is a must have! Friendly staff and Alot of seating around, but always full of people. Will be back again! Kid-friendliness: Food kids would love. Parking: Paid parking around. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly store.
Extremely delicious food, surprisingly prompt service, and a good range of gluten free options, I plan on visiting again whenever I'm back in Wellington. Well worth the five stars
Great taste. Visited with friends. We had chicken bao bun 9.50$ - 2 pieces char koay teow, char mee, Mee Goreng 18.50$ each and lychee float 6.90$ and a ginger beer 5$ Total bill 93.0$ Chicken bao at 9.50$ for 2 pieces was expensive. Overall taste was good but noodles were quite oily. Needed a little extra spice. And there were indeed only 3 prawns as one of the previous customer pointed 4/5 for taste; 3/5 for value. Overall 3/5
